Congrats! Very nice C7. Anyone giving you sh*t about getting it has never been in a C6Z or a C7. I'm a mustang guy thru and thru but the latest gen vette is on another level.

I was at the local GM dealership yesterday for an alignment (go ahead, flame away ) and they had a C7Z Vert. MSRP $103k. They fired it up in the showroom and holy sh*t! Boner achieved.

That's how they almost got me on the Z06. They said if I was pre-approved they would let me test drive it. I was approved and I test drove it but vettes depreciate hard initially, but after that the value holds. Which is why it's smart to buy a used low
mileage one.

Let's hope for the best on the personal property tax : / my gt500 was $1200 a year. I just hope it's not more than that lol. It's prob right around the same. Maybe $100-200 more.

Same here. Though any attempts made by them to persuade me were pointless. I could not afford that car. I could probably swing a regular Stingray if I wasn't paying on my truck.

I have considered getting a low-mid miles C6Z instead of a GT500 in a couple years.

Love the stingray. I love my 15 but would jump in a heartbeat if I could. Sadly can't come close to affording it right now but one day.

Well...after a month of ownership I must say, the c7 corvette is light years ahead of my 2015 GT, and even my 2014 gt500. I'm very happy I went the route I did.

I'd rather have a gt350 than a Vette. Sorry vettes are extremely fast but they're not special. I understand they're is a huge mark up on the Shelby but for that kind of money I'd take the Shelby. Read car and drivers comparison. It pretty much explains why.

Depends on the vette though. A regular C7 Stingray nope. But a Z06 or if they ever come up with a ZR1 and money flowed outta my *** like honey from a honeycomb hive I'd get either of those over a GT350.

But if it were a GT350R or if there's a new GT500 or Cobra now that... I'll take that over a Z06 but maybe not a ZR1.

After owning both, I can tell you the c7 is more fun to drive as long as you get the z51 option with magnetic selective ride control.

There is a car and driver review out there that rates the 350 above the vette, but if you take a close look, the vette is faster and the only thing the 350 had over the vette was better steering response. Steering response can be drastically altered by tire width in the front. Which is why the z06 has a much better steering feel.

However...in stock form, the gt350 has more raw entertainment on the street and the exhaust note is the best I've heard on any muscle car.

Both the 350 and c7 have overheating issues on the track, which is why track pack comes standard on the 350 now (good move ford). The c7 auto transmission overheats quick on the track. GM's response to that was to add a bigger Trans cooler for the 2016 models. Nothing for previous owners though, other than a 4K retro fit option that you have to purchase.

I do like the corvette but like I said the 350 is more special because of the engine. Europe is also eating up the mustang overseas. Yes it's not as fast as the Vette but it's a great gt for everyday driving.

The 350 isn't anything special either really. Both the 350 and the c7 have one of the top 20 n/a engines in world. And although you don't see a lot now, soon the streets will be littered with gt350's just like the c7. Once the mark up goes away, the 350 will become more attainable to the masses than a c7 is. And unfortunately at that point, the GT350R will be the only model retaining that special status.

Both the 350 and 350r are limited run cars so I'm not sure where you're getting your information from. The flat plane crank makes them special and the fact they are making almost half as many as the previous shelbys, it takes them twice as long to produce than shelbys in the past so you're not exactly correct.

Yes there are but ford took a boutique approach to building the new shelbys. There are exactly 2 people building these engines and they are not rushed.

Everyone said the same about the boss 302. Doesn't seem that special now. I see used ones for 2-3k above a normal used gt.

The fact is...ford is producing enough to meet the consumers demand. There will be no gt350 buyers turned away because of allocation.

Both are great cars...but neither are crazy rare or special by any means.

I think the things that make the gt350
Special are thing like the magnetic ride control, but those are features that have been available on the c7 for some time now. Flat plane crank is cool, but it's not that special to me.

Ford is in fact not producing enough to meet demand nor will they. They produced twice as many boss 302s than they do the 350. Again the flat plain crank is hand built by 2 people. The boss was mass produced. They're not even remotely comparable.

Ford plans on making 5,000 gt350's in 2016 and 500 gt350r's. The two year run of the boss 302 was just over 8,000 for the two year total. So they actually made less 302 mustangs each year than what they're planning to make for the gt350.
