2015 gt vs c7 stingray

I'm considering picking up a used 2014 c7 3LE. Thoughts? I was amazed at all of the cool technology and features these cars have. I'm heading up to run the numbers tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Go for it ! Those are sweet ! Much more car than our 5.0's . Some day I would love to have a corvette . The ultimate mid life crisis car and I envy all who have them .

10,000 miles. Silver something? It's like a bluish dark silver. And the price is 53,000. Im trying to do a crash course in all the options so I understand everything, but this one has magna ride damping, dual mode sport exhaust and the z51 package or maybe just the rims and tires. That I haven't really figured out yet.

The down side....it's an automatic. Which isn't bad, but the 2015's come with a 8 speed auto where the 14's have a 6 speed auto. Not a huge deal, but I would rather have the 7 speed manual if I get a 2014. The car has so much more torque and I actually had fun driving the auto. It's nice to just mash and go sometimes lol.

If you want a manual why would you consider buying an automatic if your spending 53k on the car?

And you really can't compare a c7 to a GT as the stingray is definitely a better car although it should considering the price difference.

Why? It's not about power

A full exhaust, tune , cam c6 or c7 will run down a 600+ hp mustang easily

If you want to be fast get the vette or spend a lot of $ in the Mustang to get fast

You want technology and features? Lease a Cadillac.

You want to go fast... get something fast. For $53k you have a WIDE variety of vehicles to pick from with a stick shift if that is what you want.

What exactly is your criteria, what will the car be used for and is this going to be a daily?

Well...I don't mind the a6, and I can't find a manual with the options I want.

This will be my daily and I want an all around bad *** car. I had a 14 gt500 prior to my 15 gt as a dd and it sucked to daily drive and wasn't a very fun car to drive really. I mean it was fun to go sideways at partial throttle for the first week, but after that it was annoying as hell and I realized how bad the car really was regarding traction. You would figure spending 60k on a car would get you a car that can stay planted on the road but that wasn't the case. I wasn't about to spend another 5k trying to figure that out either.

I'm looking for a well rounded true sports car that I don't have to mod the **** out of to like. Unfortunately ford has nothing that meets that criteria. The gt350 might but the mark up is killing those chances right now.

I even considered the gt350 at mark up but who the hell would buy a 70k car without test driving it? I can't find a dealer that will let me test drive one. I swear I think these dealers want the cars on their lot because they bring in traffic and they really don't want to sell them.

There aren't gonna be too many gt350's around. I'd miss the back seat and trunk too much to go with a vette, though I did look at a few before trading my 14 for a 15

Yea I agree I'm just saying that for a c7 I would expect it to have more. I'm not comparing to mustang. I also hear thier autos don't shift as fast as the newer ones

I'd rather have a Mustang for a daily driver. As a "toy", I'd choose the C7, no question.

Looked at the new m4's but the price is a little too high and I wasn't that impressed regarding performance/price. A new m5 is way out of my range as well. I'm not going past mid 50's and this will be my car for the next 6 years no matter what, so I'm not sure I would be happy in a m4 or m5.

I want a fast, comfortable car that gets traction, and it can't be a car the every Joe schmoe or college student can pick up. And all at the same time it needs to be affordable.

We will see today I guess. If it's meant to be, they'll work out a deal. If not, I'll wait a couple years and get a new corvette when my mustang has less negative equity.

Can you afford a GTR?

What about a CTS-V as a powerful car with a ton of bells/whistles?

I can understand where you are heading with this....although I'm a lot older than you my DD was a 14 TrakPak...........don't get me wrong it was a fun car to drive just not as a DD. I also looked at C6's and I really fell in love with the Grand Sport.....the issue I have is being old it's just hard to "fall into the drivers seat"......and I couldn't get out without assistance.....so it's just not the car for me although I'd love to have one. The ATS-V I got to replace the Mustang is a lot like a 4 door Corvette...The Mag-Ride is outstanding........and although it would have been great to buy the CTS-V with 640+HP it would have cost the same as buying a 15 Z06....just not willing to spend that kind of money.
As for buying the automatic over the manual....I choose the manual and certainly could have lived with the auto..............IMHO

I looked at a used 2008 gtr for 60k. Still on the high side only because I have negative equity in the mustang. I would have to pay it or roll it over.

Personally I didn't like the auto corvette. The motor has so much volume and power it was too relaxed and sleepy most of the time for regular driving compared to the regular higher revving of the coyote. However with that said the corvette past 3k rpm is amazing.

I agree but that's why I like it. Past 3k this thing produced the same feeling I got with my gt500 when I actually got traction. Probably because it has a better or similar power/weight ratio.

Update...my loan was approved at 1.99% after some serious searching with lenders. I'm still getting raped on my trade but the payments are close to what expected. I think I'm going to convince them to let me do an over night test drive to make sure I don't get buyers remorse.

Btw...all Chevy dealers give a free 2 year maintenance plan which means free oil for 2 years. Wtf ford!

The ATS-V has 4 years of free maintenance...........at recommended intervals.......although I have 3000 miles on mine with the twin turbo's the oil is already starting to turn a darker color than I'd like.........so for $35 they will change it and rotate the tires..............this will probably be the norm.

That's awesome! I hope I can muster up the balls to take this deal. Ready for a change. I've owned 10 cars in my life and 9 of them were ford.

GM seems to be offering better deals as far as just price in general and even for leasing. My parents have an Impala and that thing is damn comfortable TBTH.

Honestly, I don't get brand loyalty to the point of not even considering an alternative. I mean yeah I like Fords but if someone else has a comparable product for less money or a better one for the same money... yeah...
