Newbie...help me mod!

Hey all!

I am about to pick up my '15 50th Anv. model in Wimb White in a couple weeks! ...but I can start dreaming/planning now!

A past Stang owner, but been awhile and this will be a step up!

So, if you were going to do your first 5 mods, what would they be and why!?
- Exhaust seems to be #1 for all. This will be a daily driver...and in my 50's, so want more rumble, but not crazy loud! I saw a lot of people reco the Rosch axcel back....but in talking with the AM folks, based on my needs they reco's the Borola (Stinger or Tour) Cat-back. Nice rumble, but not as loud...and Cat-back easier to install and has the pipe mod included. ...is the "H" or "X" pipe needed and why? ...ok, let the opinions fly!

....what else?

On the S197 platform I would have a laundry list of things 2 miles long. On the S550, toss on whatever cat-back sounds good to you and have fun driving it

Seriously, unless you plan on HPDE or other racing that would push for specific mods, there really isn't much needed on these cars.

I'm the wrong guy to ask, I just hit 1k on the odometer and I am on stock exhaust for now.
If I want rumble, I fire up the old '69

1) Exhaust, Ceramic Headers- BBK, Catted H-Pipe, Ford Racing Sport Axle-Back Exhaust

2) Aluminum One Piece Driveshaft
3) Bama Tuner

4) Satin JLT Oil Separator

5) If your not going to use your existing tires, New Rims and Tires. If your going to keep them, look at an upgrade on your suspension.

Good Luck.

Thanks! I think I will keep the wheels and tires (since unique to this model), but I will need Winter wheels/tires!

Congrats on the new ride. You picked a great color (I'm not biased or anything 😂). Unless your car has been completely repainted it's Oxford white (just thought I'd throw that out there).

As for mods, if I were to buy a 15 I would buy a borla set up (me personally, I love Ataks but if you are not looking for super aggressive I would stick with the s type). Second I would look into Steeda springs and wheel hop reducing mods (they make some specific parts to do this that replaced the crappy stock parts and junk rubber bushings). That's all you need to get yourself started!

I wouldn't go to crazy with your mods since the car you're getting is very very rare. The only way you could get the PP with the auto is on the 50th anniversary cars. And these cars we're the only ones you could get in either Kona Blue or Wimbeldon White. 1964 of these made and your particular model being less than 1000 made.

Is this car new?

...it truly is Wimbledon White on the '15 GT Coupe Premium 50YR...not the anniversary appearance package, but one of the 1964 special addition. ...at least that is my understanding and what's on the sticker!?

Yes, a new one...long story, but I won it! ...I know, lucky as hell! It is cool but itself and I don't want to change much, just maybe make it sound a little meaner, winter wheels and tires, etc...but not looking to redo it! Thanks.

A catback or axleback exhaust is fine, but like I said, you have a very rare car. That Wimbledon White is a great color. And the PP isn't available on an auto unless you get it in the 50th anniversary package. When I was looking these cars were stickered at $50,000 or so.

Less than 1,000 Doesn't Make it Very Valuable.

[QUOTE=Grabber Blue5.0;2348843]I wouldn't go to crazy with your mods since the car you're getting is very very rare. The only way you could get the PP with the auto is on the 50th anniversary cars. ---------------------------
Before you start counting your money.....

#1. Resale value in the short run is so lopsided negative your argument for value this and that is negated.

#2. By the time you see a reversal in depreciation the car would be long dead by the sound of what you want to do with the car (have fun, etc). Or you and I would be long dead lol. Either way, you want a classic buy a classic. Don't buy a 2015 car and want to hold on to it for just high hopes of it becoming a classic.

The cost of maintenance, storage, licenses and permits and registrations will kill off any appreciation you will earn. Inflation is not appreciation so 30 years in the future if it does become a classic and is valued at $100,000 just remember to calculate it for present day value to see just how much value it retained.

You want investments buy some stocks.

There is another person that upgrading his 50th Anniversary to a Super Snake package.

The above was from another member that posted to another thread.

The market determines what the value of an object will be purchased. Just look when you sign on, 14 2014 Shelby GT350s sitting on a Ford Dealership in Texas. They have been marked down $18,000 dollars and still no buyers.

...thanks all...keep them coming!

From what I am seeing/hearing...maybe the Ford Racing by Borla Catback (with black tips) may be the right option for me?! ...an no cutting I think, so I could save the original exhaust?!

You won it? Wow details! I'm kinda curious honestly. No thoughts of selling it and pocketing the $$$? Are they paying all taxes on it or do you have to take care of that?

For mods... pretty much the same motor as the S197. Full exhaust, tune, maybe some suspension work. Enjoy. Suggest Lund for the tune with a nForce tuner.

ya, pretty amazing! From Dream Giveaways. I am keeping the '15...but also won a '65 "K code" I am probably going to be selling, not sure I can afford both and have twin boys going to hit college soon!. They now give $ to help cover the taxes...we will see how it all works out, get them on the 8th!

People actually win those... wow this is the first I have ever heard of someone claiming firsthand to actually win. #jelly

I'd totally sell the 65 and keep the 15 as a toy or even daily it. Or sell both, get whatever you want and invest the rest haha.

Newbie...help me mod!

That's awesome. Did you get receipts on the 65's restoration?
Pervious manager at my local O'Rielly's won a 2009 SuperSnake Don Prudhomme. Car was evil.
Personally I'd sell the S550, and keep the classic. Though I might be biased.

That's cool..the only thing I ever won was a free family portrait. I was around 13 and I entered and won. A customer of mine won a vette at a casino drawing. In not that lucky but it's nice that ppl actually won these things.

Thanks...I know...but I have a wife and twin boys that need $ for school...and the $ can help take care of some depts...and at the end of the day, I get to keep the '15, so can't be selfish. ...happy wife, happy life!

Here are some details if you know someone...
I just won an amazing sweepstakes (Dream Giveaway) and won 2 amazing Mustangs...but not sure I can keep both and complicating of selling one...even though it's killing me, I'm am contemplating selling the ‘65
Mustang GT "K code"! Not sure I can afford to keep both. You guys know this is a rare car and the basis for all the Shelby's.

Personal message me if you know someone that may be interested...at least I can keep the beautiful '15 50th Anv.!

I take possession on April 8th in FL.

Here is some good videos.

Dream Giveaway

There’s Still Time to Win the 2015 Dream Giveaway Mustang Sweepstakes

2015 Mustang Dream Giveaway

The Mustang Times on the 2015 Mustang Dream Giveaway

Here are some details from the Dream Giveaways site.

All-American from Day One
Designed especially for the true sports enthusiast, this powerful V-8 provides sports car performance to match Mustang’s sports car styling. Buyers intending to enter competitive events will appreciate this engine’s breathtaking acceleration…" - Ford Motor Company (1964)

On April 17, 1964, the Mustang debuted at the World’s Fair and showcased American ingenuity and pride for a new generation. Ford decreed a performance path for the all-American pony car that continues steadfast and true 50 years later.

Powertrain
The High Performance 289ci engine—the iconic K-code—was optioned into approximately 1% of all Mustangs in 1965. Today the $276 performance package is revered as the holy grail of performance from the Mustang’s early years.

The K-code Mustang GT fastback had the DNA of a racer. Ford’s performance-engineered 289ci powerplant, close-ratio four-speed manual transmission, beefy 9-inch rear end, and limited-slip differential turned the friendly pony car into a tameless and timeless thoroughbred. It’s no wonder that racing legend Carroll Shelby demanded that all Shelby 350GT Mustangs began life as K-code Mustang GT fastbacks.

Styling
This grand-prize 1965 Mustang GT fastback was fully restored in its original color—Wimbledon White. You’ll be proud and amazed when you open this thoroughbred’s sporty hood and see the expertly detailed engine compartment, including correctly coded engine components and accessories, hang tags, and factory assembly-line markings. If scoring big at judged Mustang events is a dream of yours, this 1965 Mustang GT fastback makes it come true. And if you prefer “get up and go” to “get out and show” this Mustang is a trip back in time. It will make you feel like you just drove it home from a Ford dealer 50 years ago.

Interior
The Mustang’s optional Pony interior features a classic all-American image of stampeding mustangs embossed onto the front and rear vinyl seats. This classic-style interior matches the 2015 50th Anniversary Mustang GT in the grand-prize package...the original interior is included.

1965 Mustang GT “K” Code Fastback
The Mustang That Started the Pony Car’s Performance Tradition
• High Performance 289/271 hp
• 4-speed
• Wimbledon White exterior
• Fully restored
• Pony interior

...it truly kills me to do this...maybe it doesn't feel real because I have not driven it yet...which will make it even harder! At least I will be a drive in it with by boys!
