New mustang 2015 or 2016

Ok a few months back wrecked my 2014 gt. Now I'm looking for a new one I can get a new 2015 loaded for just a bit more than a 2016 base. What would you do? Thank for any input.

What's the difference between the 15 and 16? Hood vent turn signal indicators?

I'd say this is a no brainer.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.....Buying a Premium or a base GT for the same price..........are you listening to yourself?
The 2015 and the 2016 are identical other than the availability of the hood blinkers -- which you can't even see the passenger side of from the driver's seat.
If you can buy either one of these for the same price = Premium every day of the week and twice on the Sabbath!

Plus...you can add the hood blinkers yourself to your premium 15 if they're a deal breaker! Heck you can even add them now to 11-14 GTs with hood vents. eBay kit.

I purchased a base 2015 with performance pack and recaro seats and I was much happier than when I had a premium. I paid 32,000 I believe. I think you should find a car with performance options. You'll enjoy the car more if your somewhat into performance.

I would go with the 2015 for sure. If you think like me, you'll be mad the first time a nice 2015 GT pulls up next to your base model 16.

I love driving my 15 GT and I added the blinker kit. It was fun to add and easy to do.

Save the dough, get the 15 and keep the base models in your rear view mirror!!! šŸ˜¬

Be sure to push the dealer hard. They want the 15's out!

Mike

The 11-14 cars look ugly to me after owning a 15. They look so old, kinda like the 05-09 cars.

The rear of 15 ugly imo... Side is okay... Front looks like fusion imo... Interior nicer definitely but we get mustangs for power

And the new one has more power... What's your point? Guy wants a 15', so give him a break.

I really think Ford did an outstanding job overall on the new 15+ in every aspect....except slapping the same corporate front face design onto the Mustang....a Ford icon for decades which has never resembled any other Ford model in current production. It had its own face, persona, style and performance.
Don't get me wrong though...a 15-16 GT all black with performance pack... WOW...it looks just amazing (to me). But.... No thank you Ford. It has Fusion face (and focus, fiesta, Taurus,....)
I'll wait for a tweak or maybe a new Bulitt..Mach 1?

I agree, is always thought of "Ford" and "Mustang" cars being independent designs. I love the interior of the 15, but the front to me is what held me back from one.

But OP wants a new stang, which fine.

Go on Autotrader and look for a 2013 or 2014. You should be able to find one. Even if you have to drive a few hundred miles that is not a be deal to save some money. I live in CT and found mine in NC , never went down to see it. Just asked for service records, did a car fax and plenty of pictures. Try to find one owned by a older adult and stock.

The 2014 looks "old" because they are made that way! Try to stick with the 2014. Late builds (after April 2014) have the 2015 cylinder heads adding the 10hp, as the 2015. Has the solid rear axle, and doesn't lose the 25 hp of the independent rear of the 2015+. Just a better car.

They still don't have a ford logo on front or back. Can't say that about a camaro. There's always controversy with every gen that comes out. I've owned 3 generations of Mustangs , and this one is my favourite because it combines a styling cue that was brave enough to depart the 60's and because if it's modern touches like IRS and refined interiors . Again, it's not for everyone, but I'm just happy we're not sitting here selling our S197's for yet another late 60's derived Mustang.

Can I get an AMEN, brother? Well said.

Previous year's Mustangs have been so derivative and retro. I too am happy that Ford moved into the future with the new styling.
Nothing wrong with having a "corporate" front end......Lexus (I HATE their spindle grill!), Audi, BMW, Volvo, Mercedes, Bentley, Rolls Royce.....every one of you can picture EXACTLY what the front ends of these cars look like all across the model line.......There is enough aggression in the angry headlights and enough digression from the rest of the Ford lineup to distinguish the Mustang from the others.

So far the 2015+ Mustang is an embarrassment. And if there was a Fusion or Mustang behind you at night, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference. Ford dropped the ball trying to appeal to the "younger" crowd. 4 doors, 4 or 6 cyls is just not cool! When the hell did this happen? The 2020 Stang doesn't look any better. Thank God I bought my 2014!

Agree with ya TroyB... I think the 13-14 era will become "The Classic Mustang" when they look back, it has all the cool retro style that the 60's mustangs had. So happy with my 14 absolutely love this car

Yet it'll never be anywhere as iconic as this! Same reason no one cares for most movie remakes(see total recall , red dawn etc) Click image for larger version

Don't get me wrong , I love all mustangs! I think the 15' just took all the nice things I liked about my performance pack 14' GT (5.0 v8, beautiful interior, brembo brakes ) and gave it more European style refinements (stronger front suspension, IRS, redesigned interior and push start).

To each their own .

Don't know exactly where you are at and my vote is. Whatever you look for try and find one with Performance Package...or in the 13/14 TrakPak...I'm bias though.

Cars for Sale: New 2016 Ford Mustang in GT Coupe, Tampa FL: 33625 Details - Coupe - Autotrader

Kind of an interesting 14....it has Recaro's and Brembo although not sure if it's a TrakPak.....a little on the expensive side...less than 6000 miles though and a lot of mods..

I guess, but for me the new suspension allows me drive way faster. I live in mountains and valleys with beautiful twists and turns. The 14 was not at home out here. My new car lets me connect with the road in a way I never could in a Ford before. I remember test driving an m3 thinking that I could never afford to feel that great when I was driving and my new car has brought me all that and still slapped a pony logo in the centre of my steering wheel. I know the departure in style is hard for everyone , and I'll admit I didn't like it when I saw the early pictures, but everytime j saw one at a dealer, I pictured myself in it!
