2015 gt mods to increase hp

Headers with full exhaust and tune. But your warranty goes bye bye.

I am also curious about the pedal max. Already did headers, exhaust, tune, and some weight reduction - great way to go.

Why would you get the Pedal Max? It does absolutely nothing for performance.

It is man. The best bang for your bucks when it comes to n/a will be exhaust and tune. You can also shave some time off with a good set of wheels/tires and suspension.

Remember, it's not always about hp/tq numbers. Suspension and wheels go a long way also.

I am not too sure. And I don't plan on tuning my new car for awhile as I have heard mixed stories and I want to keep my engine warranty for a bit. My mods will be cosmetic and sound. No tuning. Thank god I got the performance pack so I don't have to touch the brakes or gears.

I came from a 2014 V6 Mustang. Even with all of the bolt-ons available (besides FI and Spray), I was barely near 300 RWHP. So to jump to almost 380-390 RWHP is amazing for me and I don't feel the need to tune right now.

Those are just my reasons. Others may have other purposes for why they do or don't.

I heavily modded my last car. And the 1 thing to take away from it, besides an empty bank account, is aftermarket stuff will never fit 100% and be the same as the car was when you bought it. There will always be a new rattle introduced and stuff.

So I don't plan on doing that too much with my new GT. The main problem is the exhaust tone. lol. For being a new GT, it is as quiet as an ecoboost stock.

If you scroll to post 5 and 6 on this thread, you will see I pretty much redesigned the car. I don't plan on going all out like I did with this new car.

Anyone replaced any base items such as door panels with premium?

You cannot get the 15/16 Performance Pack on the GT with an Auto. All of them are manual transmissions.

That's not entirely true. In 2015 you could get the PP with the auto in the 50th anniversary limited edition.

Check your window sticker. Or if you have rims and 6 piston brembos like me, then you have the PP.

He means the sticker window that was on the car when you bought it. Lists the options pkgs and what not about the vehicle.

You don't have the performance package. Those are 19" wheels however but not staggered like the pp is. Also, your front brake calipers are 4 piston whereas the PP has 6 piston Brembos. 4 pistons is still good though.

Your gear ratio however would be seen on your Window sticker since you dont have the Performance Pack (3.73s). The window sticker would have been in your car at the initial purchase. If it wasn't, then idk.

If you have a manual, you at least have 3.31s. If you are Auto, then 3.15s. Optional for the Manual are 3.55s.

If you want your car to be quicker and feel more connected, let me throw a list at you for things to get....

Suspension:

Eibach Pro-Kit Mustang Lowering Springs 35145.140 (15-16 GT) - Free Shipping

Steeda Mustang IRS Subframe Bushing Support System 555-4437 (15-16 GT, EcoBoost, V6) - Free Shipping

Exhaust:

Borla Stinger S-Type Mustang Catback Exhaust - Fastback 140590 (15-16 GT) - Free Shipping

Tuner:

VMP X4/SF4 Power Flash Tuner w/ 3 Custom Tunes 389984 (15-16 GT Stock or w/ Bolt-On Mods) - Free Shipping

If you are manual transmission:

Steeda Mustang MT-82 Transmission Mount Bushing Insert 555-4037 (11-16 GT) - Free Shipping

Steeda Mustang Shifter Base Bushing 555-7092 (15-16 GT, EcoBoost, V6) - Free Shipping

Steeda S550 Mustang Clutch Spring Assist 35 lb/in (15-16 All) | 555-7022 | Free Shipping!

This is just an example setup that I will eventually have myself (or something similar).

This will make your car roar, feel tighter to the ground, and if you are a manual - the shifting experience will be worlds better.

Of course, you can change up and customize the list any way you want to. There are many other things you can get - driveshaft, different tunes, intake, throttle body, subframe connectors, etc. But this is mainly just an entry level list.

The good thing is, you already have the engine, decent wheels, and decent brakes. Now just have to build up the rest of the foundation.

And keep in mind, once you hit 50 posts on here, hit up an AM rep (AMAlex probably), and they can give you a discount code to use on their site.

Yessir. But if you do want to start modding, I would aim for items similar to what I provided above. Others can pitch in their ideas. But I think that is a good entry level list.

Yea as far as numbers, they will be almost the same. The performance pack doesn't do a lot to add more power. The spin you would get from the gears are semi-negated by the slightly bigger back wheels. So yea, I could imagine them both being the same.

The things that stick out are the Brembos really. Which you can see a slight braking difference. Not much. The rest of the stuff from the performance pack is flash or cool factor. Like the extra dash gauges, Strut tower brace, wheels, front splitter, etc.

Let me add my .02 here. I don't have the Pedalmax, but I do have the Sprint Booster power converter. First let me say, this is not a gimmick. Second, it does not "add" horsepower. It simply boosts the signal from accelerator pedal to throttle body to reduce or eliminate the throttle lag. I got mine from AM and although pricey, I'm glad I got it. I couldn't stand the pedal lag from about 1000-3000 rpm. Once 3000 hit, the fun began. Now, the fun begins instantly and has surprised me on a couple occasions. No more lag and feels more like a cable connected throttle body. Hope this helps to clarify what the pedalmax can do.

Btw, neither of these affect the cpu, so no time stamp or worry of voiding warranty.

Happy to discuss a tune with your & possibly a CAI - we have seen great gains with the combination - other areas you can look at is the exhaust like others have mentioned.

You can check out the kit here - Steeda ProFlow Mustang Cold Air Intake - Tune Required (2015-2016 GT) | 555-3194 | Free Shipping!

Dyno competitors comparison findings:
Steeda restrictorless CAI and tune: 422 rwhp and 392 ft/lb tq
Brand ‘A' restrictorless CAI and tune: 414 rwhp and 390 ft/lb tq
Brand ‘R' restrictorless CAI and tune: 411 rwhp and 382 ft/lb tq
Brand ‘J' restrictorless CAI and tune: 411 rwhp and 382 ft/lb tq

You can send me an email at tim@steeda.com if you would like forum pricing or talk about additional packages.

Best Regards,
