Oil change time

I know this probably had been discussed in depth but I was just looking for a couple recommendations. My 15 is a daily driver what oil should I use? I want to use synthetic. Also what filter should I use? Stick with the motorcraft?

You can't go wrong with the recommended oil and filter, but you could always go above and beyond. I personally use a Ford filter and Mobile 1 synthetic. I work at a City motor pool, and we only use factory recommended filters and oils. Our fleet is mostly comprised of Ford vehicles, and most have a life cycle of 12 years; we have no issues. As long as you perform the scheduled maintenance, and use what is called for, you will be fine.

Any full synthetic will work fine in a DD. I don't think though that you can find a better filter than the Motorcraft oem item. Really it's not what oil you use, it's whether you actually change it often enough that's the issue.

Mobil 1 extended performance and royal purple extended drain oil filter. Purolator One is also a great oil filter

my .02 is to get whatever full synthetic (Ford suggested weight) that is on sale and get the filter from your dealer. Take that time to say "hi" to sales and service to get on their friend list if a friend at the dealer is ever needed. I change mine when the OLM gets to be around 20-30% left. w/o insulting check it often and enjoy.
