'Vert owners.....Do you ever leave the top down when you are not with the car?

I do sometimes leave my top down for a quick trip into the grocery store for one or two items. Never at Costco or similar stores though, as you have to park just too far away.
I am glad that the top goes up and down as quickly as it does, and when walking to the car, you can always save time by rolling down the windows with the remote, right?
It just seems sometimes when you are out running errands, that you are putting the top up and down 4 or 5 times........makes me wonder how many cycles all that mechanical stuff is good for?

If it was a quick Time Saver/Circle K type thing, in & out I'd leave the top down.

Something I would do also, is not latch the 2 handles just to save time. That's the "hard" part, latching, then unlatching when you get back in.

Just sold & shipped off my convertible yesterday... a little sad to see her go.

But I have a new car on order. I was really close to getting a GT350, but I couldn't pony justify the extra $20k right now to my wife while we're in the middle of building a house! (and paying two mortgages)

I can see that with two latches....but the newer ones have only the one center twist handle, and hold the button, and the top goes down in something like only 7 seconds (if you already have the windows down with the remote).

Pretty much this, if its In and out then sure. But if im going to the movies or something then No. Plus I'm always weary of a random rain storms or birds crapping when my top is down

Ordered a lightning blue 2017 GT Premium w/ Performance Pack

Won't be in for another 6-7 weeks, but already changed my avatar to one that looks like it.

I leave my top down for days at a time. I don't think it's great to keep putting it up and down all the time. Also, helps when it is warm/sunny outside for the top to stretch with more ease when putting it back up...
Just my 2 cents... Enjoy your vert!👍

It's rare my top comes down. It is just too freaking hot most of the time, and I rarely cruise in the evenings anymore.

When the top is down, I leave it down until I park the car at home again. Of course, if there is a pop up thunderstorm the top is put up, but that is just common sense.

Actually its almost a downgrade...

2 year old, 2014 GT Premium Conv. $46k sticker with only 4,200 miles on, which I spent a lot of money adding awesome stuff to like 2-piece Brembos, etc.

to a 2017 GT Premium $43k sticker

If the skies are clear it stays down, always park away from the rest. Once it's back in the garage top goes back up. A top restorer told me its best to leave up when parked for long periods so it won't shrink.

He is right. The material will contract. It will also shrink in winter.
