Flowmaster outlaw ?'s

First time post; but I have a 2016 GT and desperately need a new exhaust. Instead of shelling out 1200 $ on a pre-fab cat back system, the local mienike said they would do a resenator delete and pipe to supplied mufflers for 200$. Have many people had success with this method, and if so does the length of the mufflers make a difference? Outlaws come on a 7" case as well as a 3-4" shorty length. Flowmasters are the best stand alone mufflers I have found besides borla ataks and s-types for 200$ apiece, which is just a little steep for me. Any input would be appreciated; thanks!

You shouldn't have any issue with either length; just depends how they place the 7in. Did they price you a mid pipe for the resonator replacement?

I went the full system route from American racing headers and love it but it was definitely pricy. I know you're not looking to go that route just wanted to pitch in to say welcome to the forum!

The 200$ they quoted me included the new piping to replace the resenator. Idk if it would be more of an H-pipe styling or if they would just pipe it straight to the mufflers, which is what I would assume.

I wouldn't recommend divorced duals. My buddy's 10 GT ran like crap, with them; most likely wouldn't change with a 16. Get an H or X pipe installed.

For what it's worth, I had Flowmaster outlaws on my 2012 GT/CS, and they have a nasty drone at 2,000 RPM. I have Borla's on my 2015, and they sound great. Recon's right, get an H or X pipe.

Removed the 2012 GT/CS stripe (black on black sucks) Replaced with 13-14 Silver GT/CS stripes. Welcome to the forum. Wise to ask questions here there are a lot of experienced owners giving advice. The only thing I would add is it is your car, don't just settle. Even if you have to wait to save for the best option you'll be glad you waited in the end because you don't want to regret your decision and waste the money you just spent. Congrats on the 2016 GT.

By the way I have a Magnaflow 19101_2015-2016 Ford Mustang GT Competition Series Cat Back Performance Exhaust System. This system was on my mustang for 5 months less. Selling as is for $400 dollars or BO if you wanted to go that route.... Just wasn't loud enough for me

Anyone have experience keeping the stock resonator and just doing a muffler delete? Sounds good on videos I have watched; but videos never mimic the sound it puts down in person. I figured with the stock resonator it wouldn't be to unbearably loud, just don't know how bad drone gets... Never had to experience it before

That's exactly what I did before I ran the first tank of gas from the dealer lot through it. Drone hits from 1900-2200 which equates to 60mph in 6th (I have the pp so my gears are the 3.73's) I'm at about 10k miles and it's getting loud. Not drone just in general. I want to clean up the sound so I plan to go with an h-pipe and the. Sound check a load of mufflers before I decide. Hope this helps.

To OP- X pipes on these cars make a TON of rasp. If you plan to delete the suitcase, replace it with a h pipe.

Yes it's fast, no you can't drive it.

Ended up going muffler delete. Sounds great; but my only problem is I got bolt/clamp on tips that started to rattle and shake the next day, even with a tack weld. So ordering some weld on tips that JEGS makes that will hopefully fix the problem.
