Dealer install cost

Just wondering if any of you have had your dealer install any parts and how much they charged. I contacted a dealership in my area to install the ford racing performance pack on my 2015 GT (Gt350 throttle body, Gt350 intake, & Calibration) they quoted me on 3.5 hours of labor for everything. I think that's a bit much for something so simple. Only reason I wanted to go to them was to maintain the warranty but they want $472.50 plus shop fees and taxes. Seems like a bit too much to me. What do you guys think?

Doesn't seem like a bad price to me. If you want to keep your warranty it's going to cost you unfortunately.

Sounds reasonable.

Most mechanics shops charge $100-$110 per hour as a standard shop labor fee. The mechanic only gets a portion of this, the rest goes towards overhead. They are charging about $135 an hour, and that is a little high. However, most dealerships have a higher overhead, and that fee is in line with other dealers. In my opinion, it's worth the money for the warranty that comes with the install.

My dealership is VERY mod friendly. They charge 1/2 regular rate for any modification work/installs so $65/hr in my case. Had my 13' lowered there. They charged me right at $200 to install my VMP "phase 3" upgrade (CAI, 2 pulleys, sparkplugs, tune) on my 12'.

Never updated this post but I called another ford dealer who's just a little further away and they said they'll do it for $200 lol. If you guys ever get a quote best to ask multiple spots before taking it in.

Thumbs down Shop Fees

Just another charge for the "STEALERSHIPS" to add in. I refuse to pay them! A friend at the local Ford dealership waves the fee for me. I am not paying for supplies that they can write off on their taxes!
