Ok, just had 373 gears installed on a 2015 gt premium (manual), after install at highways speeds engine does not respond to throttle at 50 miles an hour, regardless if i switch gears from 3rd, 4th, or 5th gear, and there is no increase in rpm with throttle input. If i accelerate with wide open throttle it seems to respond. While doing a real time read throttle reads 14% with gas pedal all the way down. The problem persists with the bama tune or just stock tune. It also does not kick any engine codes. Mods are flow master outlaw exhaust, and airaide cold air intake with multiple irs subframe support upgrades. I was running a tune just for the cold air intake and i had no issues so i don't think its the tune. The gears were installed by an authorized shelby and roush repair shop that does gear swaps on a regular basis, basically the dealership, and the car is still there. Its been a week now and they don't know whats causing it. My guess its a bad throttle position sensor or a bad throttle body valve... any help would be great.:banghead:
Gear changes are now made through the BCM, not PCM. You need to purchase the Whipple flare tool to compensate for the gear change. Can't be a very good dealership if they didn't know that.
Also shame on you for not doing a little research first before jumping in.
Not your first rodeo huh? Apparently you didn't know you can't just make simple gear changes anymore on 2015+ Mustangs without the proper tool. You need this.
Look at my previous post, look up bama tuners, those tuners will adjust the speedometer. And again explain how theres a dead spot in throttle at 50 mph? That has nothing to do with the custom tune or no tune.
I'll say it one more time for you. Gear changes are no longer made through PCM (computer) but rather the BCM (body control module. The fact you have Bama doing your tuning tells me all I need to know. They are clueless. The car will not run right until you address this.
Ill give you the benefit of the doubt, but i was told it will re flash the bcm through the obd2 port. And if come to find out you are right then by all means ill shut up and sit down lol. So you are also saying a factory tuner can't change the gear ratio? Because i was also told different on that.
There are no tuners that can correct for a gear change and not even Ford has the ability to do it with an IDS tool. Only the Whipple tool can do it though the BCM for now. What is probably happening is your car is going into fail safe mode because the BCM doesn't recognize the gear change. You yourself said your problems started right after the gear change.
Well grabber blue i hope your right because I'm at a loss with this, and if your right then all hail grabber blue5.0:bow:. Thanks for the input brother, ill keep you posted.
Big dog, I see you joined the forum yesterday, welcome. Maybe read some other threads and see how the community interacts to get a better idea of what this site is for. I hope you find the solution to your problem. Kinda curious about it myself as I'm thinking about changing ratio if I go forced induction route.
Mustangz, dig the ride. Especially the color which I don't think is seen around enough.
This thread was cleaned up (posts deleted). I'd suggest to any member that makes threats about looking up IP's and arriving at a doorstep knock off the cyber bully act; that will get you banned from this site ASAP should it continue.
Grabber Blue, you seem to understand what you write about. Hence I have a similar question. I have an Impala59 with all new equipment inside. The engine is LS6 automatic. It behaves beautifully on the road but then all of a sudden I feel there is no throttle response and the car gradually stops and crawls slowly which is normal when drive is engaged. I switch ignition off and on a couple of times after which the throttle begins to respond. This situation is recurrent though not very often. Any idea what causes that?
Grabber blue- you should really do your research before making recommendations online. Bama performance tuners have been unlocked for over a year now to make changes with rear end gears on 2015 + mustangs. His problem was most likely the tune.
I don't need to do research since I tune all my own cars as well as many others. I am very familiar with how these cars work. There are no tuners that can make changes in the computer because changes are now made through them anymore. Changes are now made through the body control module. Stop spreading information around when you are clearly out of your league.
lol YOU are clearly out of your league. Do some reasearch. Call bama and let me know what they say. Give it up. You are clearly trying to sell whipple software which is crap in my opinion and not user friendly. Ask anyone online to download there whipple flare tool, and then try a bama tuner and I gaurentee they will laugh in your face. Have a nice day:lol:
I'm out of my league? Okay. Bama got so bad with their tuning they now have Justin from VMP doing it. The Whipple flare tool is very user friendly if you know what you're doing. Go troll somewhere else.
