I would like to get a tuner, but hear so many different opinions. Steeda seems to have great reviews and seems to have a good name in the community. My GT has an American Thunder catback, Steeda CAI and the rest is stock (might do a TB spacer). Thoughts on Steeda tunes to up the HP/performance? Thanks.
TB spacer will do 0 for you. Nothing. That CAI isn't either except the whoosh noise. Steeda is a canned tuner. You are in NJ, go to Wicked in Toms River or get a legit remote tune from VMP/Lund/AEM or a private tuner like James Gordon (Tuning by James). You'll get an actual tune for your car vs a "close enough" tune.
I have a 91 octane tune for my 2012 gt it’s not a bad tune have no problems with it good safe tune but it is sorta tame ....decided to try vmp and very happy with really woke my car up compared to the Steeda tune
AED, VMP, or Lund seem to be what most people will offer. I don't think you can go wrong with either tuner.
Although, personally I would go with a tuner that uses HPTuner instead of the SCTX series. My understanding is that HPTuner allows access to more PIDs. I could be wrong about that.
I won't touch Steeda either, not anymore - not because of a tune though. I'll stick with BMR.
Steeda does a great safe tune. It's how the car should have come from Ford, IMO. That said there are plenty of other more aggressive tunes that are still very safe for the car, for the 5.0 they've already been mentioned.
Steeda was my first tune on my new '12GT when I bought it due to the fact I couldn't find a single negate review. I'm sure you've had the same results. Totally different car after just the tune...it was awesome! There are other great tuners out there but you can't go wrong with Steeda! I use VMP now since I supercharged and they seem to be more focused on supercharged applications.
Some do, some don't. Depends who's doing the tuning.
