I could afford a GT just the same, but why? I would pay more money each month on the payment, insurance, and use more fuel. For what? What does the 100 hp matter when the speed limit is 35? 45, 55, 65? The GT does NOTHING better than the 6, other than getting to the speed limit a little faster, and wasting more fuel.

Maybe at a strip or auto cross on occasion, it would be more fun. Worth it? Maybe to some. For most people, 300 is fine.

I couldn't go past 40k, but +1

A GT would be a waste on you.

I would of paid 3 maybe 3,500 k more for a Gt but not 7500k for it and still have the same cloth seats and not one extra electronic goodie than my V6. 7500 k more for a base Gt and you get no leather seats, no power seats, no sync system, no navigation system, no rear back up camera. I want performance in my mustang but only willing to pay for so much and not 7500k worth for 100 extra horses and suspension so I can drive to Wal Mart and back.
A GT would be a waste on you, since its just a grocery getter. That's why they sell the V6.

No kidding. Thats the point everyone is trying to make. Its a WASTE to buy a GT when we follow the speed limit and do things besides the track. The point everyone is trying to make, is that for a lot of people, 100 hp would never be used. Why spend 7k on something you won't use, before fuel and insurance. Id sooner buy a motorcycle, if I wanted to feel real performance.

Exactly. Not everybody needs or wants a GT. Thats the point. Affording something and willing to pay for something are two very different things. I don't even drive my pony to work because I have a county issued vehicle. I'm lucky to go 7k year and that's looking for places to go with it. A GT is a waste on me for what I use the vehicle for , that's why I couldn't convince myself to spend extra 7500k on the Gt model.

Ohhhh myyyyy... This has gotten crazy. Every one take a step back and take a deep breath. It is just a car, who cares if they introduce a four cylinder? It isn't the first time. People get too attached to materialistic items.

I would like to see the TT 6cyl Ecoboost they put in the F150 go in the GT (as an option) 365 HP and 465tq...in that light of a car! That thing would be a BEAST! I have seen 2wd F150's running a tune on the ecoboost run in the 11's 1/4 mile.

I never get offended. It was funny but disgusting, unless of course you're in to that sort of thing.

They are pretty decent cars. Not as nice as some of the luxury brands but decent.

Not everybody needs to go fast. Some of us old geezers like owning a Mustang like we did when we were kids but just can't handle all that raw power; or maybe we're beyond needing that adrenaline rush every time we step on the loud pedal.

So, it's nice to have a reminder of our days gone by.

What do you consider fast? Isn't fast a very open term from ones perspective and what are you comparing the fast too. Are you saying mustang should be fast to only go 1/4 mile in under 13 seconds fast. I think any vehicle able to travel 1/4 mile under 14.3 is considered fast. That's slow compared to a 10 second 1/4 mile car. But fast compared to a 17 second 1/4 mile car. So my fellow stranger, define your definition of fast for a mustang.

What 1/4 mile times does a stock mustang have to achieve in order for your definition of a mustang to be fast? Here is logic I just am trying to grasp. If person A has a 5.0 pony and it runs 12.5 1/4 mile then many consider that great and power V8. Person B could have 4 banger turbo mustang run 12.5 1/4 mile and that's not great because its only 4 banger power and how dare Ford make a 4 banger ?????? What does it matter the size of the engine if the end result is fast acceleration. A 12.5 1/4 mile V8 is same fastness as 12.5 1/4 mile 4 banger .

No but your leg muscles get weaker so it's harder to hold your foot up so the pedal isn't mashed to the floor.

I can't believe people are still talking about this. Here is the whole argument: Person 1: "They should have a four cylinder so we can save polar bears and I'm to cheap to pay for gas but I have a little penis so I need to make up for it by having a flashy new mustang. Penguins. mpgs. I'm gheap." Then person 2 responds with: "mustangs should have v8s because this is America damnit and if I want to kill polar bears I will. I'm stuck in the 1960's and can't see that you can have fun with small motors as well and I also inadequately equipped so I will make up for it by havi g a car with more power that I could ever use. America, 0-60, racing, nascar."

That's about it really.

So basically either way we can determine that you have a small penis? Lol

I never said that I do, just the people that are so close minded to other people's view. Some people want a big motor and others want a small one, it doesn't affect you if the other person has 8 cylinders or 4.

He didn't complain about it when he drove the 2014 GT500. Well, he wants big power, many European countries charge by engine size. So a less fuel efficient 2.0 would be way cheaper than a 3.7, for example. Sad he lost to the Football game.

Lol whatever happened to that idea the guy with his special gas tank had way back then. Supposedly it heated the gas to turn it into vapor and he ran across the country on a single tank? Then he was killed and his blueprints were destroyed.... 😕
