I'm telling you turbo motors make torque YouTube 2.3 turbo dyno most of them make more torque than power they just make it a 3k rpm+

Nice marketing slogan but our little V6's have less torque and more HP than the 65 HiPos and are quicker in the quarter.
Torque gets a car moving, horsepower keeps it moving.

Haha man just messing with ya. Pecking order.

Your engine is less than half the size of mine. Gotta mess with you a little. All in good fun.

Vh8ters are getting off track with the v6 sound smack talk.
I'll only speak for myself, but I can promise you whenever I mod my car, it's to make it better, not to make it "more like". When I bought my 07 GT Vert, I upgraded the exhaust. When I bought my 2012 v6 I upgraded the exhaust. Neither time was it to be more like or sound like, it was just to improve my ride and performance.

Relax guys.

I guess i'm old school. 4 or even 6 cyl Mustang is just not for me. to me it defeats even having a stang. Like if i'm gonna drink coffee - I don't want decafinated. it's like putting training wheels on a Harley. but, again, i'm old school and a muscle car should at least have some muscle and not be anemic

These new sixers are anything but anemic lol. They can beat I would say the majority of cars on the road. They have their place and are plenty fast/fun. The 4 cyl is lighter and still has 305hp.. It will be fun I think, and not anemic.

I love the low end torque that a v8 provides, but the 4 cylinder turbo could be a beast.

oh I know. around here in Houston there's a ton of sixers in Toyota Supras that run 1100 - 1200 hp and are the fastest things on the road. even the Lotus has one. it's just a preference. now how much they can pull out of that 4 cyl if tuned to the max might be of particular interest. maybe give Evos a run for their money??

I'm curious if the 4 cylinder will have a forged rotating assembly. If so, they could make some real impressive numbers with some added boost.

I have read they will have a forged crank and rods, not sure about pistons.
A lot of the new engines have the fired crank and rods.
It was an article written by Amie on here.

The cutaway images provided by Ford state forged steel crankshaft, high strength forged steel connecting rods, and "light weight, high strength pistons with low friction skirt coating, steel ring carriers and increased compression ratio".

Maybe he wasn't there in 64. Probably doesn't think a Sportster is a Harley either. Besides the muscle in a Muscle Car comes from performance not looks. And The-original Stang wasn't a Muscle Car.

Exactly. It's basis was affordability.

actually I was there in 64. 14 years old. maybe old school was the wrong phrase to use. how about my preference? either way the forged steel connecting rods are a welcome sight for me. I've gotta get my current coyote forged just to be on the safe side

I will agree with preference. Being there you should know the original Mustangs came with a six cylinder and less than muscular V8. It was not a Muscle Car without the 271 Hp Hipo Engine. It's old school false bias that gives the current V6 a bad name by some who can't comprehend the difference between a straight six and the 3.7 that is more powerful than many of the 60s Muscle Cars. Can the 3.7 sound better than today's GT? Not likely but it can sound much better than a stock 289.
The 3.7 is an excellent engine.
