Hmmm, aggressive price. It will be interesting to see the first 6 month sales numbers to see how well it does.

Subscribed.

LOL. That's a joke. 24k for a BASE v6, since there will be no packages offered for the sixers so they can push the 4cyl ecoboost. I really hope the price drops closer to 20k, much more reasonable.

Standard equipment on the V-6 model includes a backup camera, HID headlights, a tilting-and-telescoping leather-wrapped steering wheel, proximity entry and push-button start, and Ford’s SYNC infotainment system with a 4.2-inch display and two USB ports.

+1. "Base" doesn't mean what it used to with the Mustang.

Had they increased the stroke to say a 4.0L engine size and offered some much needed low speed torque I'd be OK with that price but, more $$ for the same deal is not going to work. My car gets a V8 and Tremec Magnum XL trans down the road. MT82 is a disaster and it's still in there. Now at a premium price!

Thank our Dear Lord Jesus Christ that I bought a 2014 that has none of this stuff. I wan't to drive a car, not play with a computer. I can touch screens when I get home.

This this this! This is what I was thinking about couple hours ago today - say they increased the stroke to 4.0 and maybe with forged internal assembly as well (would never happen though lol), you're easily looking at 340hp to the wheels at least. Add to that direct injection, plus the current variable valve timing - sweet 400hp v6 daily driveable beastly engine.

..just a dream haha

The price is fair. My 2012 base was that sticker price with an automatic and none of the mentioned features. 3:31 gears are in mine and will be standard for 2015.

It would be interesting to see how the owners of the previous gen Mustangs reacted when the model/pricing came out for the 2011's....

I suspect they were much like the opinions being posted here now for the 2015's!

^^^^ The 2015 IMO is to generic, to Asian/Korean looking . The Mustang is a long standing American GT type car , the new world model not my cup of tea

33K for a GT with an MT82? NO! Because this 3.7 is so torque starved it is geared like pocket watch. With a longer stroke engine the gearing would be much better and driver feel would be impressive. The V6 engine and trans are both borrowed designs. Not the optimum way to build a car. Still better than what they had by a bunch and it did save sales slippage as intended.

When I worked @ FORD I was in Management in the tooling dept. that built body dies. To retool this car was very expensive. That alone justifies the price. Trust me on this. I think it would have been much better if they found a better manual trans. Does anyone think the Europeans won't have issues with the MT82? For 30K you can get a new AUDI. Not sure what trans will go behind the euro 4 banger. Don't care either.

The said the MT82 had been improved in some of the media hype I've read. What does that mean? I don't know, but we're going to find out over the next year.

Also, as much as we like the V6, CAFE rules and wanting to sell in Europe punishes big engines. I'm pretty sure they all rely on displacement and MPG numbers to determine how things are done. The days of large displacement are going away, again. This time, we'll have help from forced induction.

Anyone whining over the price: People kept saying they wanted an IRS, even though we told you it was going to cost more. Enjoy. I bet it's the main increase for the price. I'll enjoy my SRA.

The 15 is a whole new ($$$) platform. Nothing interchanges. So, the floor pan, rear IRS mount is all new and nothing interchanges. Moser has an axel bolt in for the Camaro now. Don't know if they will do the Mustang IRS the same way. I think they will. I hope they do it with the 8.8 In any case the new 15 comes with line lock for burnouts! How thoughtful. Hope it can be retro.
