2015 v 6 stang

The original mustang engines will always be the v 6 and the v8....I'm sick of this puny v 4 ecoboost they shove down our throats to cut expenses and increase profit....at the end of the day the 3.7 is just a better engine.....I've had 3 mustangs. A 2009 gt, a 2011 v6 premium and now a 2015 v 6 and I couldn't be happier with my pick

Pretty sure the ecoboost is an i4, and I would suggest not coming on here and hating a whole platform. It is just going to cause arguments that won't get anywhere and lead to angry people. It is your opinion which is one hundred percent okay to have, but no need to make a hate thread.

Well what you must understand is the 3.7 has been getting lots of credit since 2011. But now there is a more impressive engine on Ford's roster and it seems as though it is here to stay. The v6 will live on in the Ford gt though

I just can't get comfortable with a 4 cylinder on austang...after test driving both, the smooth and crisp drive of a 3.7 still feels right...if I wanted something loud, then I would be looking for a gt...a cranking engine of a 4 cylinder just doesn't bode well

Nice ride but to point out a few things...

1. Nobody is 'shoving it down your throat' this is America and your free to purchase as you wish with your money
2. As already stated its an i4 not V4
3. First gen mustangs came with an i6, from 1974 through 1993 mustangs always had a 4 cylinder option. It wasn't until 94 that Ford went with only a V6 and V8 option. So not sure why people can get comfortable with it when the majority of the mustangs life had a 4 cylinder option.
4. Ford isn't putting the ecoboost engines in the mustang to save money they are doing it to be competitive and have a great performing car that gets better MPG's. When you take into account the cost of the turbos, additional piping, etc. A turbo car is a more complex and costly car to build which is why its priced higher then the V6.

Again, clearly everyone buys what they like and I actually have a 14 V6 and love it. But not sure why people feel the need to bash other options instead of just saying that they are happy with what they have.

2015 v 6 stang

So why does the new turbo 4 mustang sound like a leaf blower in the American Muscle 1/8 mile run. Go to 5:03. That's an embarrassment!

They put in the 4 cylinder because of damn CAFE regs again. Also OP, as previously stated multiple times, it's an I4, not many, if any, V4's left.

The new and "improved" 4 cylinder turbo also got whooped in a race by a 2014 v 6...it's on the tube....also over the long haul the 4 cylinder will prove to be an unreliable choice...after driving both I'd rather have a smooth ride at 300 hp than a car sounding like a hellcat but pulling only a slight improvement in hp than a v6...it's all hype and no bite...the crank on that gt though...now that's something

A large market share of Fords Mustang sales are rental fleets. Ford must comply with CAFE. The four cylinder and V6 in base, premium and convertible forms are used by rental companies as well as a lesser number of GTs.
The new 2.3 motor cost Ford a lot of money to R & D and produce. It's not cheaper than the 6 and it's built by Americans in Lima Ohio. I wish I had a job like that.
I prefer my V8.
When I was 20 years old, landed my first well paid job...Ford credit approved me to buy a brand new Mustang 2.3 four cylnder. It was slow. But it was my first and led to a long life of Ford preference and Mustang love.

The turbo is for the European market more than anything else. If it sells well, Ford will dump the V6 option in mustangs.

I'm not sure why all upset about Ford bringing back a 4 banger. Sure it sounds horrible and like my weed wacker but that's okay. I have this amazing freedom here in the U.S. called: don't buy that *****. You and everybody else are not being forced to buy that. Just saying. I too have a 3.7 and really love it. I would certainly consider buying a turbo 4 banger someday in the future as long as Ford made the mustang look good again and make it muscle looking. Unlike that piece they have now in the S550, no offense to those owners.

Yes there's also something in America called freedom of expression, and I will do as I please with that...either way a "4 banger" ruins the muscle look to me...all bark and with the bite of a puppy.

It's funny when people think of the iconic mustang part of what they think about is the roar of the V8. Kind of funny hearing V6 mustang owners putting down the ecoboost because it ruins the 'muscle' aspect of the car. Sound is extremely subjective but IMO the sound of a spooling turbo and BOV just as bad a** as a roar of a V8.

Yes sir, please feel free to express your thoughts about the 4 banger. Respectfully, I'm gonna have to disagree with your statement about the 4 banger ruins the muscle look.

The 4 banger does not ruin the muscle look. What ruins the muscle look is the S550 model because there is no muscle look to that model. The S197 is and was the last of the muscle looking mustang. So, respectfully its not the fault of the 4 banger and has nothing to do with the 2015 loosing its muscle look.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the 4 bangers performance and is a very capable serious performance sports car.

Well a lot of people would disagree about the EB4 and the look of the S550 considering they are selling like hot cakes.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it law.

And yes all this thread is going to do is stir up an argument, you knew that when you created it so I'm just going to close it before it gets out of hand. Because it will.
