Different strokes for different folks. I went from a 442 whp coyote to a maybe 280 whp mazdaspeed3 and am having a blast. Its not all about what numbers you can put down.

I look for the handling and being comfortable on drives. I could care less for numbers

If your going to put an exhaust on i would get a 15 v6 or gt but if ur not putting an exhaust on then the ecoboost is a decent choice.

I had a 2008 mazdaspeed3, was a very fun and agile car. The ecoboost engine in the current mustang is very similar to that 2.3 mazdaspeed engine.

I traded my '07 Shelby GT on my 2015 Race Red Ecoboost and have no regrets. It is so much more fun and handles a ton better. Like having three cars in one with the driving mode selector. Feels very much like my Shelby in the Sport mode...
