Road Hazard Damage

Went to meet a friend for lunch, ran over something on the way. Whatever it was, it won vs my ecoboost. Punctured gas tank, ripped through rear wheel well and rear bumper valance. Waiting for tow truck driver now.Click image for larger version

That would be the most damaging plastic bag I have ever seen, or not since I didn't see the culprit.

Looking at the damage it caused tells me it was a metal rod or assembly. Deductible time.

I was thinking similarly. And yes Mia is getting all fixed up. Deductible is due upon completion.

Went by the shop yesterday and they finally have it looking complete but they informed me that they are waiting on insurance to approve replacing fuel lines because they are run through the underside of the rear seat and they are going to have to remove the seats to get to it. Seems a little odd to me.

Geez man glad you're ok!

Thought I got hit hard by that dresser that exploded on the highway....Mila (my car) drove away with a cracked windshield and one dent (size of a quarter).

I am so happy to hear that she is coming together though man.

I learned my lesson about that years ago... while driving on the interstate something fell out of the back of a pickup truck. I couldn't move in time so I ran over it and it totally destroyed a good bit of my car's underside. I made the mistake of being honest with the insurance company, to which they replied that since this mystery object fell out of the truck and wasn't already on the road when I hit it, my policy wouldn't cover it. I argued up and down but couldn't gain any traction with them so I eventually paid put of pocket and switched insurance companies. Lesson learned!

Still don't know what it was... Insurance = required...
I think dealer screwed up repair, fuel intake cuts off repeatedly at the pump. Friend thinks the tank intake houses might be kinked.

Good morals if you have any children. Just like Hillary Clinton.
