You can only put one tune on the car. Those are just different options he was giving you. A tune will make one of the biggest differences, most bolt on modifications you barely feel.

S197 More power

Yes. And a power adder. Plus suspension mods.

Pick your poison.

Not sure how much you want to spend but here is what I tried and love it. So I decided to go with the Cobra Jet intake manifold with the Ford Racing dual 65mm throttle body and cold air intake (Steeda has a power up kit for this and don't forget the Boss install kit). I then went with Kooks headers and off road X pipe. I deleted the factory resonators and installed Flowmaster American Thunder mufflers. This thing sounds fantastic.
I then had it tuned by Tuning by James. The guy was awesome. From a prior stock pull on the dyno I gained just under 100 horse to the rear wheels (yes the same dyno with the same parameters). Couldn't be happier. Don't think you can do much more with bolt ons. The next step is a Procharger.

Excuse my ignorance but how does one do a tune or fine someone reputable to do a tune? I'm assuming you interface with the car using a laptop and tuning software?

I've tried several tunes. MPT is awesome, GREAT SMOOTH PERFORMANCE, and awesome pricing too. Took 2 days to get my tune and it wasn't the rush option. I've also got tunes from both of the companiesstarting with "B". Bxxx is a very good tune for me, but Bxxxxxxxx was terribly disappointing.

I won't bash any vendors so the full names aren't listed. I'll just say that MPT rocks hard and smooth. Those guys don't play...
