License Plate LEDs Keep Failing

I recently bought a pair of LED bulbs from Diode Dynamics for the license plate on my 2013 GT, among some other LEDs for around the car. A week of two after having them on the car they both burned out completely. I thought it might be a fuse issue, so I checked the related fuse and it looked fine but I replaced it anyway just to be sure. The bulbs would still not come on after replacing the fuse. I contacted Diode Dynamics and asked for replacements, and their great customer service sent me two new ones right away. After having the new ones on the car for about two weeks now the bulbs are burned out again.

While I was waiting for the second pair to come in I put the stock bulbs back in and they were absolutely solid, which makes me think it's not a fuse or wire problem. Is it possible that Diode Dynamics is making low quality license plate bulbs? Before this instance, I've always had nothing but good things to say about their products and their service, but I'm not sure about these bulbs. The dome lights and trunk light I bought at the same time as the first set of license plate lights are really good quality.

All the other threads I looked at regarding failing LEDs were based on cheap "eBay" style bulbs, so I definitely didn't expect this to happen with the Diode Dynamics bulbs. I'm not an electrical guru, but I do have a multimeter. Is there any way I can test to see if it's the car that's causing the problems or if it's the bulbs? Is it possible that I'm doing something wrong when I'm installing them?

You don't think two pairs in a row is strange? I thought it was since both pairs went out after the same amount time and the fact that all their other bulbs have never failed on me. I'll probably contact them again tomorrow to see what can be done.

Things that are Mass Produced, it is easy for a problem to be missed!.. They could have whole "shipments" worth with the same issue from whatever problem!..

I had a side marker light fail after about 2 weeks. The customer service is excellent. No hassle they just sent me a replacement bulb BUT they wanted me to send the failed part back. I thought that was a wise move because if the factory is taking a shortcut, or just isn't manufacturing the part correctly, DD has the proof. Btw, I have replaced all my bulbs with DD LEDs and there hasn't been any issues. I love the switchback bulbs!

My friends 2010 had the LED's go out on some from SuperBrightLED.com twice and ended up going to a non specific small panel style that fit in the housing.
I put the Stock bulbs back in mine because the LED's kept burning out every month or so that I got from there.

I get my LEDs from JDM ASTAR on Amazon or ebay. No issues so far on 3 vehicles.

I'd contact them (Diode Dynamics) again and explain the second set of LED bulbs burned out after a few weeks. It's very possible (and likely) that they received a bad "batch" of these bulbs. Offer to send in both sets (if you still have them) or at least this last batch. Explain to them that you have installed the stock, non LED bulbs back in, and they have no issues with burning out.
Hopefully they will offer a refund, or a third set from a different "batch". At the very least, you are offering to assist them in troubleshooting the reason(s) for these bulbs to burn out prematurely.

Funny, that's exactly what I did. Just sent out the two old sets and received the third in the mail. We'll see how long these last. If this third set burns out I'll probably ask for a refund and try a different brand for the time being.
