can the 5.8L 392 stroker block take parts from 5.0's?

I am thinking of saving up and getting ones of these stroker short blocks, but I have never seen parts for them (except for some Edelbrock heads). So I was wondering if they use 5.0 parts.

which parts, and what exactly are you planning?. That stroker kit would probably go on a 5.0 and you would stroke it to 5.8

well, I was gonna buy a whole stroker short block from Mustangs Unlimited. But, I am trying to figure out if when I buy parts for the 5.8 if I just buy 5.0 parts.

302 and 351W share some common attributes, some are not common. We've done 2 V8 strokers. One was a 302/327 stroker, the other a 351W/392. We used the AFR heads, cam, and short style timing cover/water pump from the 327 on the 392. Even then the heads and cam which were ideal on the 327 and which fit on the 351W stroker, were "too small".

Anyway, some items from the 302 that fit on the 351W:
Heads, cam (may need to do a roller cam conversion depending on 351W vintage), oil pump, upper intake (fits but may be "too small"), bellhousing, tranny, headers (fits but may be "too small"), accessory brackets if SN-95, dipstick, valve covers, certain rocker arms, motor mounts, most bolts.

What doesn't fit and must be 351W specific:
Lower intake, distributor, oil pump drive shaft, oil pan, pan rails, oil pickup, balancer, flywheel/flexplate, EFI fuel rails.
