thoughts of the day: junkyards, insurance companies, and driving

Is it just me or are junkyard's prices insanely high?? The owner of a local junkyard - who I know pretty well - wants $150 for this 88 LX front bumper cover!!!!! its not even in that great of shape and I can get a brand new reproduction bumper cover from latemodel restoration supply for the same price!!!

Could I get pulled over if I drove my 90 around without a fender, hood, or front bumper cover? I am tired of using my moms van, lol.

Also, the insurance adjuster should be coming by sometime this week (I hope) and if he says he is gonna total the car out because the damage would cost more to repair than the car is worth I am gonna ask him if he could just write a check for the maximum value he will pay for repairs before totalling the car out. Do you guys think that this is a good idea? it will save me from having to go through the hassle of buying the totalled car back and getting a salvage title for it. I am going to be getting the insurance check cashed by a friendly body shop and I am gonna repair the car myself so money wont be an issue no matter what.

Heres some more pictures of my car for your personal enjoyment:

wheels, frame, suspension, everything fine except for the hood, the fender, the bumper, the lights and the radiator support is a little bent. anywho, i think i am gonna take the 5.0 and t-5 and maybe the rearend from that car and stick it in the 64 and then part the 90 out.

unless you can weld and grind EXTREMELY well, you are always gonna need a little bondo to make it smooth.

my friends dad has an old jeep wagoneer, i swear that at least 30-40% of the body is bondo... still has the nifty wood trim, hence the nickname "woody-wagon"

Why the Hell does dodge make such a big deal out of the Hemi? I could get more power out of a Ford 5.0 for less money. Screw Mopar
