My car is known as the *****stang!

I am the only guy at my school with an automatic mustang. Every other guy has either a GT or a manual V6. I geuss you could imagine how i feel with a bright yellow automatic V6. All i have is a cold air intake and the other guys have exhaust and all that. I think i lost the battle for the mustangs until i run a 2.04 in the 800 meter run when i get a Mach 1. But until then....I dont know what to do! Any ideas? lol

Quickest bang for you're buck mod would be rear end gears and a t-lok. It helps with acceleration and speed, but not your actual power.

gettin a hidden nitrous kit so you go fast but they dont rat on you to much, or you could just get exhaust, gears and tlok, p and p work, and a computer chip and you would hang with them

a zex nitrous kit for 500.00 will give you instant tourque. your car is about 193 hp so a 75 shot gets you about 250-260 hp at the motor plus tourque you need to launch your car. Then get a 3;73 gear with a posi unit. the 7.7 will be fine it wont break if you dont do break touques and stupid stuff like that. Next get a tourque converter. a 2600 stall is perfect for the street and launches your car with more power.
zex 500.00 install your self
3;73/posi install about 700.00 let a pro do that one!
edge racin t/c 400.00 plus 150.00 install or install yourself
dont push over a 75 shot on your engine and allways use 93 octane.
never spray under 2000 rpm in any gear.
i would still be spraying but my 11 lb supercharger replaced the bottle and my engine is still fine with over 50,000 mile on it.
have fun and start saving $$$$$$$$$$$$$
check out the yellow mustang owneres regestry. you will see your not alone.
my car is Grey sorry.

I think thats a bad idea, if you wanna spend that much money on a car, dont make it a neon, turbo or not its a neon. BTW i'm aware of its performance.

I was in a 03 Neon SXT, interior is the same I think. Seats are like ironing boards, I think the SRT has better seats though. It was real uncomfortable to drive and the back is just so damn high, I could only imagine what its like with the wing on the SRT.

You ever driven a Camaro? It's a lil worst than that. A camaro has absolutely no rear view..test drove one for a friend, couldn't see **** to back up in the thing...had to stand up through the t-top and look behind me to back out.

LOL, closest to a Camaro i've ever driven, or have been in is a 79 Firebird which I drove, wasnt bad at all, it took me a little bit to get used to how wide the car is and how long the front end is. I drove this car before I ever got into a mustang though, now the long front end is a lovely thing. What year Camaro do you mean?

whats wrong with autos?

I like telling people they got beat by an automatic v6.

I've even had people come up to me after a run at the track

"Thats a 5speed eh, you shift it pretty damn hard"

"actually, its an auto"

I agree.

And the guy who suggested getting a torque converter -- He's right on. But go 2800 stall. And get a shift kit. And then you will smoke all equally modded manual mustangs. Because manuals are the worst. Oh god. The worst.

Why?

Mine has been rock-solid. It's slightly modded, though... Rebuilt to Crown Victoria Police Interceptor specs... B&M 19,000 GVW tranny cooler... 3000 Stall Precision Industries TQ converter... Fairbanks (Superior) Pro Shift Kit... etc.

Almost every car running sub-10s is an automatic.

Yeah...I thought about it. The auto is harder to break, easier to drive, and, unless the other guy hits his shifts really good, beats a 6-speed car in a drag race.
