The vote on a state unit basis. It isn't a yea or na based on person...it is based on state. The state unit break down goes to republican biased.

Ah crap, forgot that. Each state gets one vote. Simple majority correct? Or is it 2/3 of states?

"The Constitution mandates that the U.S. House then would choose the president on Jan. 6 from among the top three candidates. Each state's delegation gets one vote, meaning that states as large as California and as tiny as Rhode Island have an equal say. Since Republicans rule in a majority of states, a simple look at a map of "red" versus "blue" states shows that the House would almost certainly elect Bush.

But the Senate would elect the vice president. Each senator who is elected in November would get one vote. Republicans now barely control the Senate, but that may flip in November, depending on a few close races. If the Senate goes Democrat, it would choose Edwards, setting up a bizarre Bush-Edwards White House"

Just picked it up....they are talking about counting the provisional ballots...the ones that may or may not be counted....The gues there are 140k provisional ballots....if the difference is less than that....then they have to count the provisional ballots.

Now, if the difference is less than like 40k (0.25%)...it is a total statewide recount including provisionals....

Kerry camp still claims they will win ohio. Talk about denial.

These are the sights I've been on all night. Each one offers something different. The best are the CBS and yahoo sites, scroll over the states to see info.

why cant we just have a national website where you have to goto a place and log on and then vote and then all the votes are talleyed in a few seconds and at 7pm at each time zone, you know each state's results. Real-time elections.

DAMN this 12hr result crap!

Exactly...but the have to count them if the number of provisionals are greater than the margin of victory...

Be a man Kerry...be more of a man than Gore...Concede....you need 75% of all outstanding votes including provisionals to win...it isn't going to happen....Lose gracefully.

Nevada just swung over to bush being ahead...he is now winning Nevada, New Mexico, and Iowa....that would almost wipe out the nead for ohio...leave him just 3 short. He is losing all the other states...so ohio has to stand....
