Well, apparantly, the local track to me (within 15 minutes) is selling car information to insurance companies! they give the tag info, and the copies of the waivor (spelling) that you have to sign, this is so messed up

That is just wrong, you race at the track so no one gets hurt or killed in the process, and then the ins. companies wanna play hard ball and prosecute you for doing so...

sounds rather dirty to me!

they sell it to them so that you cant claim insurance damages for something that happened at the track, i think. because they arent liable for what happens at the track. i THINK thats what it is...

i dont think this can be legal. its perfectly legal to race at the track in any car, insured or not. call up a laywer and see what you can do, i dont think they can drop you for racing down a legal drag strip, sounds like theyre profiling to me, like "just cause you race down a track makes you a high risk driver".

1. Insurance does not cover cars at the track
2. I bet the people around where you live would like to know the track turned you in. I say boycott the track and spread the word. I would also get as much people together and picket the track.
3. If the track did not do this and a insurance compny was tipped off and they came to spy. Find out from the track who has access to the information. You might have enemies.
4. Could have been a inside job or someone dislikes you and sent the stuff to the insurance company.

In all I cant believe the Track did this because when the word gets out they will go out of business. Someone needs to contact the track and get there response to this.

Hi everyone, I'm the photographer at the track in question (Capitol Raceway). Just making my rounds, trying to spread the FACTS. (Wow, this thing really blew up fast!)

- Capitol does not sell information about its racers to anyone, and does not give it out without a darned good reason.
- The guy in question raced at Capitol in September.
- He got a phone call from his agent stating that they would be dropping him for racing at the track. The agent stated that they would be sending him a photo of his car on the track as well as a copy of his signed waiver form as evidence.
- The agent did send those things. The picture they sent was not one of my photos. The race track did not give Geico the waiver form and has no clue how they obtained it.
- The guy in question did not do damage to his car at the track, and has not submitted claims against his policy. This action on the part of Geico was completely unsolicted as far as we can tell.
- Geico has yet to explain to anyone how they got the waiver form.
- Contrary to rumor floating around, this guy does not drive a black mustang, and did not make a claim for swerving to avoid a squirrel and balding his tires.

Anyway, a couple of people from this forum joined Racers Den (the forum where this all started), so I thought I'd drop by and try to shed a little light on the subject.

Anyway, hi!

I'd be glad to hang around. Anthing that reflects badly on Capitol reflects badly on me, so I appreciate the opportunity to clear things up.

If no one has objections, I'd love to be able to post "new picture announcements" here. I'm up at Capitol every weekend.

Hey you are welcome to post here. You could post your announcements in the regional area of our forums Mid Atlantic or in the Drag racing area

I think I read her post wrong...I was taking it as her advertising on here. I now see she was just wanting to post when she puts new pictures up or something. Ignore me...I'm stupid.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate that.

Just for everyone's info, I post my pics up on my site: http://www.intensephotos.com . They are low-res, and low quality, but they are URL and watermark-free. You can download them, email them, put them on your website, and use them in your .sig banners. Whatever you want, as long as it's not commerical use. I sell prints, posters, and the high-res (3008 x 2000 @ 300dpi) image files themselves.

And now, back to your regularly-scheduled Geico thread.

Oh... one more thing. Thanks to this whole Geico mess, I am now blurring out all of the license plates.

I'm just gonna solve the problem and take mine off lol. My insurance agent is cool though. I had a fender bender that was my fault, went and talked to him and he advised me to bypass insurance and just pay out of my pocket. He's cool about mods and stuff. Always asks me what else I've done to my car, but never wants to up the insurance or anything. It helps to be friends with your insurance agent's daughter...lol

Along the lines of this, my friend just bought a Lancer Evo, and noticed a wall of pictures of the license plates of Evos at racetracks. He asked what it's about, and the guy told him that Mitsubishi sends photographers to the tracks, and any Evo that races has all of its warantees stripped. Pretty rough punishment, huh?

Just take your plates off...solves all your problems to an extent. I know alot of cops back home that go to the tracks to see who races track...then keeps an extra close eye out for those people on the street to make sure they don't race.

Thanks a lot, I appreciate that. I know some forums are funny about that, cuz I'm a *cough* business. But I do offer the low-res copies for free, so feel free to take 'em and use 'em guys.

Did I know you bought a $1000 digital camera!!!! NO !!!!

cyphergirl is a dedicated Photographer and goes to the track weekly. Not to think any less of you!!!! She would be a great addition to our Forum and also be a good source of info on the mid Alantic states events.

I also would like to see more Women and Girls to post here. I personally believe anytime you envolve women into any forum the level of Intelligence goes up and the neanderthal mentality of most young men starts to subside.
More women means less foul language and less distasteful, off color jokes or rude comments.

I'm not looking to be stepping in on anyone's turf. I live in Maryland and shoot at Capitol Raceway (and some local special events). The rest of the US is all yours.
