Yeah, they're saying that he didnt want to leave in the first place... but it looks like Bush is pushing his weight around.

If Colin Powel ran for president, I would vote for him. He actually thougth about running in 2000, but decided against it for some reason. Pitty, he rocks!

I hate that lesbian b!tch.... (just like saying lesbian, had to say it tonight somewhere).... anyway... yeah, I'd vote for him too. Actually, I was hoping he'd run in 2000.... as then I wouldn't care if either he or Gore won, at least we'd have a good president... start the flaming... just my opinion, calm the F down, Powell would've been a good president. I heard it was his wife keeping him from running for elected office.

I like Powell but he was not always in line with the Bush's ideas. Powell is a dedicated public servant and would do nothing to derail the President or say anything against him even thought they did not always agree. What has to be known is people in the positions since 9/11 have been working 24/7 and for top positions like Secetary of State, Attorney General, the stress is probably mind splitting.

I also like Condoleeza Rice she is more than qualified and is President Bush's closest confidant. She will do a excellent job.

I remember Clintons second term a large portion of his staff and cabinet resigned. It is typical.

Yeah, it's typical. I just wish Colin wouldn't. But I completely see why he would want to...

Thats very simple. He and Bush never saw eye to eye on certain issues (big example would be Iraq) He hand a differ way of approaching Iraq and Bush pretty much brushed it off. It was like that with many of his ideas. Guess he has a lot more diginity then just being some puppet.

Actually it was not Bush and Powell that did not see eye to eye it was Donald Rumsfeld and Powell that did not see eye to eye. They got in bitter disputes on proceedure in going into Iraq. Bush was the middle man in the picture. The real problem was both Powell and Rumsfeld did not want to waitfor Europe to get on board because they new that was not going to happen. What they did argue was the trooplevel to begin the invasion. Rumsfeld wanted to use only 130,000 troops and Powell wanted to use 250,000 troops but that would have required 3 more months.
