w00t!!!! I got accepted to college

I got my acceptance letter from Mercer University in Macon, GA today. It was my "#1 choice" so all I have do to is find scholarships now. I will be majoring in mechanical engineering.

Yup. Just stick with it. It seems like it'll be forever 'til your done, when you're just getting started, but it ends eventually if you just stay after it. You'll really feel like you've accomplished something when you finally finish (or at least I did).

look deeply into your heritage if theres any real amount of native american then you get a free ride. I think the cutoff is 1/8 and i'm 1/16 so i got shafted on that deal.

engineering will kick your ***. guaranteed.

<---- civil engineering major.

make sure you DONT get caught behind. trust me. im repeating two 4-hour-classes from last semester that i failed, right now. if they give you a suggested homework list, start on the material the day it is covered... if you start with chapter one, and it says you cover chapter one for the whole first week, START on the homework atleast before wednesday. you can get a better understanding of things during class, and you can go ask your prof questions about the homework that you didnt understand after class.

trust me man.

the first 2 semesters, i didnt do this, which is why im sitting at a 2.04, and repeating 2 classes right now. however, this semester, ive been doing all the homework and studying like crazy, and im making damn near 4.0 for this semester alone. so it oughtta boost my GPA back up, but still... its not a situation you wanna put yourself in.

Hey don't listen to them about it kickin' your ***. You can make it but just goin' to class is just a start I go to class all the time but never pay attention. I am passing everything but I could be making straight A's if I could just do my homework. My friends are failing Calculus but only cause they don't pay attention in class. Just pay attention and you will be alright.

I pay attention, and I haven't missed a class yet.

I just happened to get the WORST TEACHER that the whole campus of UAB has to offer for the one subject I'm struggling in.

I'm not dumb, I made a 33 on my ACT. She just can't teach.

good, just realize its nothing like highschool... looking back hs was SO easy its not even funny.... you wont have a problem as long as you study and try... just dont give up due to to much partying or not enough studying. and dont join a frat... real college students dont have time for that crap... unless you have a pos major that requires no real time or effort.

if AP cal is kicking your ***, you better make sure you retake cal in college. even if you get AP credit for it, retake it. i know too many people that got AP credit for cal1 and went straight to cal2 and failed.

and besides man, if AP cal1 is kicking your *** in highschool, you're gonna have to REALLY kick it into gear for college.

seriously, i took AP cal1 in highschool. slept everyday, made A's on everything in that class. never did any homework. that class was a BREEZE compared to college calculus.

Mechanical Engineering is a good choice

I liked it so much that I stuck around to add a Master's degree to my Bachelor's

I took Calc 1, 2, 3, + differential equations.
