blue AC gauges.. :D

I would've posted this in show and tell... but I ain't got anything to show. I'm tired of the ugly green glow in the interior, so I set out to start replacing that green glow with a blue. I started with the AC panel. Who could know that the film is actually in between two peices of plastic, lol... that God for SHARP knives... I had to cut out the green thick plastic parts.. which took forever. Then, I got blue Reynolds saran wrap, 16 layers thick, and I put that on the back of the AC face... which glues to another face, which houses the green film. put that all back together, and now they glow a kind of teal color.... not blue blue, but not green ... I'm not done yet, I'm still experimenting. I'm thinking of painting part of the two white bulbs behind the AC panel blue. A dark blue. If I could get this to give off all the blue I need, I could get rid of the saran wrap. You can't tell it's back there, but it's a huge difference. If you try it, make sure you don't cut the white plastic behind the middle part of the panel. It cost me $2.43

It's alright... not quite what I'm hoping for yet... but we'll get there ... I don't mind my interior not matching... it'll pay off eventually. I've never heard of anyone taking their stock face and making it glow blue... so I'm experimenting. I'll probably pick up some blue paint for light bulbs maybe tomorrow. who knows? I'm assuming if I paint the bulb... I'll have to take off the saran wrap so I can see them, and not lose too much light. I also thought about slapping a blue neon bulb back there... we'll see.. but as I said, right now, they're kinda teal

alright, maybe a blue neon bulb is the way to go.... and it isn't that hard really. The green film is glued to the back of the AC panel housing... it's easily cut with a sharp knife, just don't cut through the clear plastic in the middle... only green. But yeah, I'm not done experimenting
