lan parties are getting fewer and fewer i want me and brent to have one some day...

lan parties usually take to long to set up and everyone is late cuz they are watching the last bit of star trek.....

high speed internet is the reason though if you can play online why carry yoru crap somewhere, it is more fun but computer people are lazy

Well my first LAN Party experience was awsome.

It was being held at a friend's place in his guest house next to the pool away from the house. So many people showed up it was ridiculous, half the house was filled with computers, in the kitchen some people brought their guitars and an amp and started to play in there. Surrounding the area was pizza boxes, coke cans, ice cream, microwavable snacks galore, with more pizza boxes. We spent half a day trying to clean that place up. In the living room his dad had these 2 pin ball machines to play on, the TV was tuned for all the playstation games with 4 player to 8 player games going on constantly.

QUITE a weekend, I wish it was during spring break so it would last longer.

I had to play on my friend's crappy PC, but people let me play on theirs when they passed out. It was the same time around when Half Life just came out, I remember someone playing it and it was the talk of the party.

You know I dont mind windows on a computer but some things are just a little to much to see. That clear computer looks like some type of medical device. Like a artificial heart!!!

Sorry but my personal opinion it is kind of ugly !!!!

But maybe you like the Frankenstein lab look !!!!!

because the one I picked already had 6 fans in it. Plus a 6800 GT is huge... I need all the breathing room I can get with the set up I have... overclocking a 2400 to a 2.5ghz = hella lot of heat

I'll have to measure a bit to see if the 22" can fit, otherwise I think I may fall back and get something smaller.. now that I think about it, 22 does seem over kill

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp

Need help on picking a 19" monitor, I figure the 22" would be too big... so I'm looking for a great 19" monitor.

I looked at this one: http://www.newegg.com/app/viewProduc...002-037&depa=0

but I'm getting worried by some of the reviews saying "The lines get annoying" etc etc (you'll know what I mean if you read some of the reviews)

Could anyone recommend me an excellent 19" monitor? Hoping to go for a black CRT flat screen monitor.

Pieced it all together. Went with their TDX processor waterblock, the Maze4 chipset block, the 6800 graphics card block, Black Ice single 120mm radiator and fan, dual 5.25" bay-reservior, their 12V pump, and ten feet of tygon tubing (which I used most of). It's a really cool setup, but such a pain in the *** to get setup.

Hrm Half Life 2 at full quality = AWSOME... Doom 3 at full quality = AWSOME... but you can still sorta see the frames refreshing when you turn quickly.

I dont think that is an issue with the Athlon 64 !!! People working on the Opteron and Athlon 64 bit processors are doing some crazy things now that all the issues with embedded calculations on the processor were fixed.

ok with that settled, I can buy ONE thing before Christmas shopping begins.

What should I buy first? The monitor or the speakers?

Currently I have a Dell 17" monitor with 2.1 Altec Lansing speakers (all came with my Dell comp, all about 4 years old)

If the speakers sound good I would go with the Monitor. What size do you want.

I don't really know about that. I've got two 1024 sticks in there now. Thought about populating all four slots and getting the maximum four gigs, but decided to save some of my money...

What was the reasoning behind it limiting the overclock?
