It's here.. finally after saving up.. and it's so gorgeous

The box was huge though, just to compare my brother (98monte) stood next to it in his Pillsbury doughboy PJ pants he's about 6'1 so you can imagine how big the box is. But yeah, the tower is monstrous. I'll have better pictures once I get everything hooked up, along with the new monitor I'll be buying with my speakers. (22 inch monitor w/ top o the line Logitech speakers)

Thats a awsome computer you got there!

You got the next one up from the video card I am buying. I am getting the 6800 GT. Ultra is very very nice. Have fun playing half life 2 and far cry on that baby

I'm not a fan of Pentiums at all but that one you got will get the job done. Amd is the only way to go gaming wise in my book

Looks like you got your moneys worth with it

Get pictures of the massive monitor? Whats the max resolution for it? LCD? I hate that 17" lcds have a max resolution of 1280x1024

I just stuck with Intel because I've always bought intel *shrug*

and I barely had any money left after I bought this computer, otherwise it'd have 2 gigs of ram, a dvd burner in it, and the better hard drive but eh, it's nice. Here are the monitor and speakers I will buy

2 gigs of ram will actually slow you down if you overclock

your 2x512 dual channel and excessive cooling will allow you to easily overclock that computer

I'm also going to get this mousepad from thinkgeek.com that lights up underneath it.
(laser mouse friendly and looks awsome)

I'd post a link but their website seems to be down

Brent my man That is a Serial ATA Barracuda 160 gig HDD. They are quite nice They are much faster than standard IDE ATA HDDS but not quite as fast as a SCSI. The best thing would have been to give you 2 Barracuda 80 Gig Serial HDDS and hook them up as RAID 0 drives and had really fast drives!!!

I would do that but I need massive storage... I will have the 36 gig raptor and a 200 gig western digital.. both sata

The raptor will be used for os on on partion and then games and software on a seperate partition. Then I will have the 200 gig partitioned up 40 gigs for music, 150 gigs for movies and 10 gigs for software

I already have two 80 gigs and one of them is completely full

I use to buy nothing but Western Digital but I have had more returns from customers with dead W/D hdds than you could imagine. Even mor than the IBM deskstars. Brent you might know more about running a Forum and programming but I have built over 500 gaming computers and have tried all the major brands of Hard drives and all I can say is

Western Digital=Seagate>Hitachi/IBM>Maxtor>Everyone else>fujitsu

I like the new Seagates better do to the improved cooling and better bearing design for longer life.

If you hook up as raids you would best be doing it with identical drives especially in Raid 0 configuration

well raid 1 would be pointless to me so raid 0 would be the only way I would do it.

Plus the 200 gig second harddrive covers my storage.... which means I get the 36 gig raptor to hold just my operating system on one partition and then games and software on the other.

Cna you even partition two drives hooked up in raid 0? If so how does that work do you jsut see it as one big harddrive and make partitions based on that or....

yes you can partition Raid 0 drives. You would have to do both the same. I do know you have to use Identical drives in RAID 0 (stripping or Performance)and they should be new drives

Raid 1 (Mirroring or backing up data) does not require identical drive and they can also be partitioned

I'll stick with the current way I am doing it. 10,000 rpms will be fast enough for me
