That is just.. incredibly sad..

I hope our technology can do everything that's best for her..

Instead of supporting these people who have 20 children and live off welfare and do no work, we should fund the help of that little girl

If a state wants to do it they can do it. I know California is already passing some rules that they'd be able to continue the stem cell research

So im just gonna presume federal funding is taken out and its all up on the states??

I dunno seeing things like that girl is going through. There shouldnt be any questioning on stem cell. I hope in the future we see a update on the girl see how far our medical tech. has gone.

so why is he so against it then? Him and his wife are both very vocal on how bad it is and it shouldnt be done.

I believe stem cell can. if i remember correctly their there to make cells that are not known where they going so they adjust. I couldnt see why they cant help her on the face.

Guess we'll have to see how far plastic surgery can be taken

BTW yes i know the chick is a tease fits the whole hater theme

She was missing over 40 bones in her face... stem cell research could not help that... plastic surgery can't help that... that's just called life, as bad as it sucks there is just little that you can do. People act like stem cell research is going to cure every disease out there. It's just not going to happen

the problem with stem cell research and all the technology is yes it is very usefull for cases like this.....but what about people who try to create perfect babies? you have to remember that for everything that can do good....it can also be used to do bad.

stem cell research is not a cure all! Jesus, people don't understand. I am in medicine, and I know that stem cell research is not the answer to AIDs, HIV, the common cold, the flu, E. Coli, smallpox, or unfortunate babies born without 40 of the bones in their face.

People think that stem cell research is a cure-all. It's not.

I dont even need to get into detail

In 1998, researchers at the University of Wisconsin and the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore MD found a way of harvesting stem cells from embryos and maintaining their growth in the lab. Stem cells are a type of primitive cell. Scientists have found ways of developing these stem cells into most types of human cells, such as blood, brain, heart tissue, nerve cells, bones, etc.

Researchers are growing closer on treating diseases with such: bone loss, broken bones, brain damage due to oxygen starvation, severe burns, cancer (some forms), diabetes, Lou Gehrig's disease, heart disease, hepatitis, incomplete bladder control, Huntington's, leukemia, lupus, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, osteoarthritis, Parkinson's, spinal cord injuries, and stroke!

What you know look whats listed as number two on the list bone loss wow what you know stem cell can help.

Now please feel stupid. Thank You

actually, it was number one on the list. now please feel stupid. thank you.

back on topic, this child never had the bones to begin with. So I don't know how any sort of treatment that involved treating bone loss would help her. Besides, the list you mention only says that researchers are growing closer to treating those diseases and symptoms. I'm growing closer to reaching retirement age, but that doesn't help me with social security any, does it?

bone loss means your in the process of losing them

She never had them

Its been awhile since 1998 hasnt it? They must not have been as close as they thought they were... even with the funding Bush gave them for existing stem cells.
