Don't know how this happened

Street lamp across the street snapped landing in my neighbors front yard. Thankfully all that seemed to be damaged was a bunch of brush, bushes and trees.

Notice how there's live wires and a fire hydrant too close to each other

My car was right across the street too so I was scared at first, even though the lamp wasn't tall enough and I usually park in the driveway, but still

And yes the light still stayed on after it fell.

Re: Don't know how this happened

Completely calm out. No one has any idea how it happened. All of a sudden we look out and it's lying in the bush.

I get out there to take some pics just as the FD pulls up. It looks like they capped the power wire and moved it from the bush onto the side so it doesn't block the sidewalk.

20 Firefighters out there just to move a pole. I love the FD around here.

hmm....definately interesting. I've only ever seen them down because someone crashed into it. Glad to hear your car is ok though.

Re: Don't know how this happened

Yeah, I mean, the snap is about bumper height, but it's kinda hard to see so I didn't notice and thread marks. Not to mention the windows are open and there was no loud crash. Now I'm just wating for all the others on the block to topple over.

Re: Don't know how this happened

Found out what happened.

The girl across the street had a friend drive her home. Apparently he sucks as a driver and somehow hit the pole. He got all embarrassed and drove off.

Now there's no more pole, just an orange cone covering the metal pipe stickin out of the ground.
