We have one member, the old sarge, out in Washington state or Oregon who might be a little older than me, but since he gave his stang to his son he hasn't been around too much I think. I am certainly the oldest active member, I haven't been as active lately as I would like, my mom has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and I have been having to spend a lot of time with her plus I spent a lot of time rebuilding these two computers, but about done with that now, and my sister is helping me with my mom, so I am getting online a little bit more now. We have to take her to see the neurosurgeon in a bit to see if the thing is growing or not, they did scans again yesterday, I hope its not, if it is, then we may not have her with us a lot longer, She is 77, but I will sure hate to lose her if she has to die on me.

Damn Rick sorry to hear about your Mom. Well I will put her in my prayers. I am sorry I have not been in contact with you more. Hell it has been well over a year since I have seen you.

Yeah, it was really sudden. She started acting really strange, like she might have alzheimers, but it was real sudden, not gradual, she had a brain injury on the right side of her frontal lobe when she was an infant, this is on the left side, so when it started putting pressure on the left frontal lobe she like lost it pretty quick. They have her on steroids which brought down the swelling and got her thinking fairly normal but she won't agree to surgery to remove it, if the thing is growing she won't have much time left, might have 3 to 6 months the doc said. Doesn't look good.

Previous brain injury when she was only 18 months old took out the right frontal lobe, doc says if they take out the tumor it is likely to destroy the left frontal lobe leaving her pretty much a vegetable, I guess I can't blame her give her particular situation, if it were me I would be like take it out NOW. But I don't have only one frontal lobe either.

The report yesterday is that its not growing very fast at all, so hopefully this will give her some more time, he even said some of it has died due to outgrowing its blood supply, the swelling is under controll so he reduced the dose of that too, this should reduce some of the bad side effects of that med. About as good a report as we could have hoped for really.
