Fallen Hero

Ill be the first to admit I dont like all cops esp those who make a big deal on auto stuff. But this I dunno really like hit home cause it happens a few mins from where I live. But on New Years Eve an officers life was taken away. From a sick mother****er who in turn did the right move by killing himself.

Story is cop responds to domstic abuse, guy gets crazy and pulls out an assualt rifle and shots the cop in the head. Drags him in and ties him in the basement. Now it becomes a hostage situation to which lasts a day (started @ 5:12 pm 12/30 till 3x pm 12/31) He barraceds himself in the basement wit the slowly dieing cop and cops have his whole house invaded inside outside but the basement. He finally decides its time he shoots the cop to his death and then kills himself.

If you guys can see the scene right now the cemetary he's being buried at is on lockdown with 2 fire ladders raised high with the biggest american flag you have ever laid your eyes on. The brotherhood of the cops have def shown units from all over CT MA and NY have shown up over thousands are at the church as we speak. Thats brotherhood.

Let Officer Peter Lavery Rest in Peace :patriot:

here in Bham there's a lot of talk about giving the cops more high powered weapons to deal with the criminals who have increasingly dangerous weapons.

That sucks and pisses me off I can kind of relate to the cop pay since I am in the military none of us get paid enough to go through what we do, but that is what happens when you work for the government

That is not completely true about the job security because they can boot you anytime they see fit. All they have to do is prove the case of why they are doing so.

If I saw them I would drive my car right over them. If my car was a pos, while ducking so I don't get shot. The government prolly wouldn't cover my car either.

Blame the government for allowing the assault weapons bill go void...

Now law enforcement has to deal with these dangerous guns on the streets.

lmao

The ban was in effect while the hollywood shootout was going on. That means the weapons they were using were illegal

When will people learn that just because its illegal criminals don't care. They will get the weapons regardless.

No law is going to stop a criminal from getting a gun he wants.

That is the worse logic I have ever heard.....

Duh...People can always get illegal stuff. But just because they can, does that mean there shouldn't be a law forbidding it?

The law was in place to prevent people from obtaining guns from stores, expos, and online.

Taking it away only increases the chances of people owning these weapons.

Thanks Bush Administration...You guys are really looking out for us

Do you know what? A AK-47 is still illegal, even with the ban lifted today

You are the weakest link, goodbye.

Well I never mentioned an AK-47, nor any other gun, so I'll ignore that comment.

And that leaves only the comment of you assuming I'm an idiot. I could respond to that, but I feel it rather unnecessary.

I did read part of that site, including the pdf file on the front page. I do agree that the ban was not as effective as it should have been, as it left "loopholes" for gun manufacturers to alter minor details on the gun to make it "legal".

My only gripe about the government letting this bill expire is that they have shown no notion to correcting it so that the bill is "modernized". Had they created a bill that was a little more specific in what is and isn't allowed, maybe the AWB will have a legitimate purpose. That's what pisses me off.

What pisses me off is people blaming the Bush Administration for every ******* thing that happens in this country. Get over it.

Guns don't kill people, the person who points it at you and pulls the trigger does. Its not some ******* right wing conspiracy people, its common sense.

Maybe if this country wasnt full of lazy parents who don't give a crap what their kids do, don't try to raise their kids to learn to respect others, and explain to their kids what is right and what is wrong then this country would not be in the crappy state it is now. If MTV and BET would stop promoting the use of drugs and sex to our kids that might help to ya know!

Just watch people, look at how they act. Watch how they treat their kids, watch as the kids tell the parents what they arent and are going to do.

The governent can't raised kids and tv can't raise kids to be respective of others lives.

Is not the damn governments fault that two ******** walked into a bank and robbed it and then proceeded to take out cops left and right.

That's what pisses me off.

I'm not calling you a idiot, It pisses me off at some of the things you said that just werent true.

And you were responding to this post which a guy killed a cop with a AK-47, and thats where my ak-47 being illegal with the ban came into play.

Well whatever the case is, I wanted to speak my piece. I already know where you and, what seems like, everyone else stand on the Bush Administration. I knew that I was going to get the exact reply that you gave me. I'm not surprised, but I just wanted to give my perspective. I don't throw around blame unless that person(s) is truly responsible. In this case, the government needs to step it up a bit (I'm talking overall, not just targeting this administration).

I agree with everything you said about parents and the media. The thing is, though, this is a situation that the government needs to handle and take control of. Parenting can only go so far; we find this out as we grow up.

And again, as for the AK-47 comment, even though the initial post pointed out a specific gun, I'm referring in general to the AWB and other gun control.

If you think I'm getting my information from that "Bowling for Columbine" movie, please stop there. That movie is tainted as is all of his others. They don't hold up in an argument.

Please stop trying to slander my argument with Michael Moore.

here's my two cents...

1. People need to be more aware of the world around them. example... How many people didn't know terrorists wanted to get at us before september 11th?

2. People shouldn't be surprised to find that if they aren't aware of what's going on in the world, you're more likely to get hurt. You shouldn't have to be told to get off the tracks because there's a train coming. You should have seen it.

3. People are way too reliant on the government to negotiate their lives out for them. The simple fact of the matter is the government is pretty much a business. You wouldn't let McDonalds tell you how to live, would you? (however, McDonalds does turn over a wicked profit...unlike the govt.)

4. Ban guns. Then Ban knives. Then Profanity, Alcohol, Gambling... You get the Idea. Banning things doesn't prevent criminals from aquiring whatever they want to get thier dirty little hands on. Example... Crackhead opens the door of a car stopped at a light and tells the driver to get out. The driver says no. The criminal then appologizes, politely closes the door, and walks away. ...right. The simple fact is that banning things makes about as much sense as pissing at a forest fire. But I'm sure someone will feverishly dissagree with me.

5. Farenheit 911 was a MOVIE people, that's all.

on a lighter note...

If the government really wants to save the world, they should ban beef. Cow flatulence tops the list of ozone depleters. really.

I'm going to help save the world tonight.

I'm going to eat a cow.

I dont even know what you guys are argueing about went from assault weapon ban lifted to tv parenting to I dunno what else

So heres my deal. Im a fellow gun owner. I dont own many guns but I do own my hunting and my toy guns. I have a 40 round SKS thats an assault rifle should I be screwed over cause some illegals got them their own way and used them the way they did? I think not. Most gun owners are average joes, Most dont go around doing illegal things and People like you (NJStang) is the reason why I have to go through so much bullsh*t just to get my gun in the first place.

Secondly the Bush Ad. has nothing to do wit the ban that was Bill Clintons doing (elephants are FOR guns) and even at that the ban was for accercories that make the gun illegal (ie the features to my SKS is a kit thats made)

Thirdly I dunno who said it but if you want the government to take more control of our lifes who ever it was you my friend are thy biggest moron ever. Why would you want the gov. to take more control. Anymore control we give the gov. we might as well be communist and have a dictor like Cuba. and sadly most americans want that. Cause of the whole media parenting thing you guys talked about.

Topic has been beaten to a pulp.....Me and Brent talked on AIM for awhile and agreed to disagree....That's life.

Seph, sorry I misunderstood your post. The way you posted right after I did made it seem as if you thought I was referencing the movie. Sorry again.

bluemustang, those "hoops" and "bull****" you speak of are in place so that people, unlike you, who are unstable and a threat to society can't obtain a gun. It's not people like me that make it hard for you to get a gun. It's people like the guy who shot the cop or the 100s of thousand people who decided to take the life of someone else simply because they looked at them wrong or said something they didn't like. It's those people you should blame, not me.

Oh and you mentioned communism...better look that one up in the dictionary, bud...no country has ever been communist, including Cuba, and it would be pretty damn hard to get to it.

I've had enough with this topic. I've given my opinion and thats all I wanted to do. Back to mustang chat.
