Seen a really nice Jack Roush Mustang today...

I was coming back from Atlanta and stopped at a gas station outside of Birmingham, Al and I went in to get a quick snack when i realized the money was in my car. So I went out and when i went back out there was this BEAUTIFUL what looked to be A Stage III rosuh. I went back inside and asked the owner if it was his and he said yea and I told him what a nice car he had. He said thanks and all and walked to his car. Wel I pay for my snacks and walk back to my car and he sees me getting into my mustang. So he waves and pulls up to the stop sign and revs his engine and chirps his tires when he takes off.

But by god it was a beatuiful Mustang....

^somehow i don't think that would stick to the road very well... not without a massive suspension change at least

What he doesnt realize, with a BOSS 429, his light car would weigh damn near 2 tons with all the beefed up modifications he would have to do. Heavier rearend, heavier trans, and suspension up the ying yang.

I have a 66 Coupe that I was serriously thinking about dropping a HiPo 289 V8 into. Until I found out how much it would cost to upgrade the whole drivetrain, and suspension. I wouldnt want to imagine what beefing up a 65 to handle a 429.

^lol wouldn't it just be easier to drop the 66 chassis onto a frame that would take the HiPo? granted, that'd be some expensive custom work with the chassis. but still cheaper than changing the 66 frame and everything you mentioned

or am i way off base here?

like i said, i'm new at this lol

The frames were the same. It was the suspension that was majorly improved between the I6 and the V8's. But then again.. the 429 wasn't even invented yet at the time. So I'm sure you would have to do some engine bay mods to enclose the huge engine in the little compartment.
