Might have a lowering kit for edges soon!!

Well one of the members on my ranger forum e-mail steeda and talked to them about a lowering kit because there is no safe way of lowering an edge right now because of the 4x4 suspension. So steeda said if they get enough interest in it they will be more then willing to get us a kit for it . So if it goes well and works out i'll be buying the lowering kit

rangers do not look good lowered. they just don't have the right lines. the same goes for all midsized trucks.

the only fullsize trucks that look good lowered are f-150's(single and extended cabs only!) and chevy 1500'(with extended cab only!). and only if they're done right!!!!!

just my honest opinion

There wont be pics for a while. We contacted steeda yeasterday.

Bane - An edge is setup in 4x4 and 4x4 both using the suspension for the 4x4.

Nate - I HAVE made up my mind. I stated that in another post a couple days ago. I'm not offroading my truck anymore. It's to nice of a truck to take the chance of f*cking up. I like it when its clean and nice looking. So there for i'm not offroading it anymore.

Also for everyone else who doesn't think they looked good lowered your wrong. Anyway this wont be lowering my truck to the point its slammed. More then likely it'll only lower the truck about a 3/5 which since my truck sits 2inches higher then a stock xlt will bring it down a little bit and stiffen it up so it handles better. Another reason alot of people buy the edge is because its all color matched instead of having grey plastic and chrome. I'm primarily just wanting it to sit a little lower because i'm wanting to start doing all the performance stuff I can without feeling like the truck will bounce all over the place.

Here is some lowered EDGE's to show you that they DO look good lowered.

The first 3 pics is of some random edges that have had the front suspension also known as torsen bars replaced so they can lower it more. The red truck is one built by hurst and is closer to the level that the drop will give and that is the hight I want my truck to be.

There's more reason then just not wanting to lift my truck and go offroading. I've gotten bored of offroading and I can't have a truck that sits higher. I've got bad knees and a bad back and I can't get up into super high sitting trucks. I also can't afford to lose the gas mileage I would if I lifted it and put bigger tires. So this IS the way i'm going to go weither y'all like it or not.

Bamachips.com programmer, whipple s/c(with smaller pulley) port and polish, headers, tloc rearend. Those are the basics so far. The market for the 3.0 is slowly starting to open thanks to whipple. ALso the guy who owns www.bamachips.com is a ford master tech and also his truck was the one used by whipple to build the s/c for the 3.0. His truck is also running 14.2's in the 1/4 now.

Please dont take this the wrong way, but that is the dumbest thing I have ever heard!

I have a 98 Ranger 4x4 and I cant imagine WHY anyone would want to lower an edge?

Dont get me wrong, I love turcks that are lowered, just not edge/4x4's.

To automaticly say something doesn't look go no matter what without giving it a chance is just dumb. Ever heard of the term "different strokes for different folks"? by you automaticly saying that dont look good makes me think that you are close minded. I love to see trucks lifted, slammed. That would be like me saying a mustand looks stupid if you put something I dont like on it.

I come here and post because I want opinions and because I trust your guys opinion on things, but honestly with some of the comments I got I feel almost attacked JUST because of something that is possibly coming out for my truck I MIGHT like. Sure I drive a truck with a stock 4wd suspension even tho it is 2WD. But to automaticly jump down my throat because maybe I DONT want it sitting as high is just not cool. I have more then just "wants" about doing this. I've got bad knees and a bad back. Right now my truck is just a little higher then i'd like. I want it to sit at a hight were I can just slide in. So i'm considerind this kit as a possiblity. Plus i'm not lowering it for stupid reasons and even at that it WONT BE THAT LOW. I want to build my truck to handle and go fast. Next thing I know you'd say is "well why dont you just get a car" here's my anwser to that I DONT WANT A CAR. So please STOP saying that.

My final word on this is IT'S MY TRUCK AND I'LL DO WHATEVER I WANT TO IT weither you like it or not. I'm just getting sick and tired of whenever I want to so something that y'all dont like y'all basiclly jump down my throat or atleast that is what it feels like. I like coming and posting on here, but if thats all i'm gonna get then i'll just stop posting here.

Lock this post if you want mods because i'm done with it.

The way he came off is what I thought wasn't cool. He automaticly said all trucks look stupid lowered and not all of them do. Just because a truck is lowered doesn't mean it can't be a work truck, doesn't mean it can't haul anything.

The reason I feel attacked alot of the time is because. Bane(using you as my example) he DOES have a 4wd and he WAS in the process of making it a street truck. Did he ever get talked down to about it. No not that I have seen. Me i'm driving a 2WD truck and I want to make it a street truck. Why am I getting talked down to because I want to do this? I'm just getting tired of it. I want to put my time and effort into my truck and have people SUPPORT what I do to it and respect me for the work i'm going to do. Not tell me it looks stupid of is a dumb idea. Dont get me wrong I KNOW it will happen, but I honestly never would of expected it from you guys. Being that I was a fellow mustang owner and know what its like to do your own work. I just would of expected more respect.

Honestly I didnt know Bane was doing that. I never saw him post about it. People do think its weird that someone wants to lower a truck that was meant to be high off the ground. I mean think about it...... I don't really care its not my money or time going into it. I don't see the point of making a Edge a sport truck but like I said its not my time or money being put into it so go for it
