Got dynotuned today

I got dynotuned today from an evo tuner that flew down here. The numbers on the right are my base numbers. I pulled on the dyno and got those numbers. After about 15min of tuning and a couple more pulls, I ended up with the numbers on the left. Gained 40whp and 92wtq for getting dynotuned. Not too bad if I say so myself. I still need to adjust my cams a little and I should pick up another 5-10hp/tq as well. Not vital, but I'll do it eventually. Oh my my boost controller is spiking my boost a little, so I need to get another one and that should help hold the 22psi easier.

330whp on a mustang dyno = 360ish on a dynojet. I have about 400bhp or so. I only really lose 60whp. That's high, but not too bad. It comes out to about 20% parasitic loss

nah i dont launch, i know my car is a fwd and the trannies dont like it. id be down from a roll though, freeway 50 on up to 120, well see how that awd loss is.

oh and after next january youll be looking at central cali's first AWD spyder. ill be doing the swap after i smog it(awd fitted fwd car will fail instantly) so that way i have another 2 years of awd fun before smog time comes again. found a few writeups on the task plus talked to a guy online who did it and said its pretty straighforward(get a awd tranny, transfercase, rear end) and go to town. cost about 2000 for parts if they are new, and if i can find a totaled gsx parts car with intact drivetrain like he did itll be whatever.

dude, i really dont want to be a dick here, but you can launch a FWD, it just takes some major skill, and the thing that kills trannies isnt the launch, its wheel hop, its dumping the clutch outright, or a total dead hook, you usually have to ride the clutch a bit so you dont "slam" the transmission

Brandon, 400hp, thumbs up!

I have a friend with a DSM whos a very good driver, and the DSM tranny does NOT like to be launched, eclipse knows what he's talking about

FWD are the hardest to launch due to design..... it can be done just not nearly as easy. and wheel hop == horrible for car

you can launch a fwd, and my buddy can launch his just as good as a few of the rwd cars hes raced, but I cant. i suck, i either burn the clutch(how i killed the stocker) or burn the tires with wheelspin. with the new turbo i dont get hop, it just blue smokes the tires till i let off.

i really suck at launching, so i dont even try. if i race someone from a stop i usually just ease out the hole then hit 1st hard till it spins, then shift to 2nd and go wot, then hit the full boost switch usually at 4k+ and fly by whoever im racing.

oh btw i ****ing hate fwd. if it wasnt for the lack of 2g gsx in all of cali or my lack of knowing about 1g dsm's i wouldnt have this fwd goofball. when i rule the world all cars will be selectable rwd/awd(or 4wd for trucks), kinda like the galant vr4 and skylines i think have that too.

i never said he didnt, just that the way he came across was like "d00d, if 1 lunch mah cah, mah tran1 wo0d b1ow fa fvk up!111!!", coming from the dodge world (neons and k cars), guys could launch even the weakest trannies all day, but when wheel hop or tht nasty dead hook occured, thats when **** would break

not trying to say his word isnt credible at all, i just took what he said to more of an extreme, because i hear it all the time, honda boys, dsm boys, dodge boys, everyone "i cant launch cuz mah carll break" translating to "i cant drive"

^^^no really, i cant. i take no offense, for "i suck @ teh launching". i launched on a 98ish cobra once, and we both got out of the hole the same and had the same traction and hooked up at the same time, but that was once and prolly my only real launch i can remember. about a month after that i had to get a new clutch.
