I hate Iowa winters.... poor car

yeah... I ended up sideways this morning while taking my brother to class.... slide forever... finally caught actual concrete, the car whipped back the other direction, slide into the ditch, as there is no shoulder on the road, and then finally stopped pointing up the ditch (at the road). The only damage to the car was caused by the fence my back end slide into... so I'm gonna be looking for a new rear bumper and getting my left side of my exhaust fixed... other than that, there was no damage. I may get the alignment checked. I'll post pics some time

never drive the stang in snow. even with sandbags in the trunk it doesnt help me with PA winters. we might not get A LOT of snow but we get a decent amount. PLUS everything is hillly around here and going down hills in the snow with the stang is never a good idea.

I never drive in the snow either.

So that puts me out of commission like for 2 days every 5 or so years.

i agree with bluemustang, my friends 99+ is cake to drive in the snow, when I had to move my car to the driveway from the side of the yard...that was 2hours worth of cussing/pulled back fun

thats why I have a 4wd truck though to I can get instant traction on snow in just the flip of a switch...ice is another story though

try driving in the snowy appalachian mountains. it gets about -5 degrees here with a foot of snow. ice covers the roads and PA roads SUCK. trust me, its not the driving, its the car and the state.

What part of PA you from? Ill be moving there in June.

But yeah if they dont plow that foot of snow then obviously you cant drive. I cant even drive in 3 inches of snow in the 5.0 but then again I have close to bald tires that need to be replaced this weekend hopefully

the roads were fine.... until I hit the ice patch. I don't care what year Mustang you have.... they don't take ice well. I cracked my bumper, basically tore off an exhaust tip, and I have small scratches on my spoiler, trunk lid, rear quarter panel, and one tail light... but they're small. I didn't get ANY damage from going in the 8 foot ditch.... I got the damage from the fence. Anyway, my brother and I got the trip odometer out and measured my skids. It turns out, I slide about .1 of a mile before going sideways.... I slide sideways for just under .3 (and I mean JUST under) of a mile. I couldn't believe I slide that far, but skid marks don't lie. I was sideways for a LONG time.... not fun. 10 minutes after... 2 salt trucks had passed. 3 patrol men stopped... one took my brother to school, the other took me home to get my dad's truck... which didn't help, so I had to get towed out.
