Might have me a project stang here soon

Was hanging out helping my friend work on his honda to get it running again and his friend scott was helping. He mentioned that he was selling a 79 mustang. It runs, needs work on the body, new passenger window and cable for the handle on the passenger door and needs new tires. Comes with some nice weld wheels. Its a 2.3 auto. He's willing to sell it to me for about 200 RUNNING. I'm going to go check it out tomarrow(or today to be technical). I'm getting about 200 back on my tax return so it should be in my driveway very soon

Oh i know its gonna be a long project. I'm planning to take my time so its done right and the way I want it. If all else fails and I can't build it to the street car i want i'll build it as a sleeper. Will look like crap but will haul *** Anyway can't beat 200 bucks for a running car. Anyway my bestfriend has seen it and everything and he says its not too bad and i'd trust him.

Money is not something I have a lot of, but i'm gonna do atleast 90% of the work on it. This will give me a chance to learn how to do a lot of stuff I dont know how to do on a car. Not to mention since its a carb'd motor it'll be easier to swap for a bigger motor/tranny ect..

yeah he was doing alot of the work himself too, but i guess he i bought a whole new engine to put together. so if you are just gonna fix up the existing engine that will save a lot. good luck by the way. is it a fastback?

Put a 331 stroker in it. B/c it is not fuel injection. You could have 400hp

I'd be willing to bet the floorpans are rusted through, check there and the bottom of the trunk for rust, normally first places to go, check the firewall, etc etc, it's 250 dollars for a reason.

Its a notchback. I'll either do a 2.3t swap or drop in a v8 i'm not sure yet.

I plan on checking that, but its originally from atlanta so its southern car so its not as likely, but there is still a good chance. There is also a few reasons he's selling it so cheap. Body needs work, needs new tires(they wont hold air) he bought it for 150 and since my bestfriend is his friend he's letting it go cheap too. He is also a big car guy and knows a LOT and has quite a few cars.

I'm also tired of not knowing how to do a lot of work on cars and i'm wanting to learn so I know how to do it and can save some money. So this car should be perfect for that. Anyway i'm hoping to look at it today and i'm gonna take some pics of it.

I worked on a car, well, still working on a car, that has never left MS...it's a early 70's 260Z...and it's a complete rust bucket. It sat up for a while, a long while outside and just rusted away, the humidity down south causes alot of rust.
