Got accepted into the OTS in the Air Force

Finally after waiting since mid November, I have heard that I got accepted to go to Officer Training School in the Air Force. I will be a navigator in there. I can't wait. Most likely won't go until this summer because I still have a flight physical to go thru and that takes about a month to schedule and get results for. But at least I know I will have a job for the next 6yrs here soon.

Well, a big ole salute from this former Air Force enlisted guy Monkey, I reckon you deserve it as much as most of those 90 day wonders, more than a lot I am sure, lol.

Thanks guys. Y'all are forgetting I am under 25yrs old and insurance on a vette is expensive. and most important, military people don't get paid very much at all, so a $50k car is not very affordable. I'll just keep my evo for a while.

He's at Sheppard AFB. He's most likely some sort of mechanic then. Congrats on making OTS, but officer's suck. Just don't be one of those!!! I've got 8 years and counting!!!

I will be an officer, but I won't be a dick. I know too many people that are in the armed forces that were enlisted and told me not to be a dick. So I won't have some big-head ego officer attitude. Heck, I will be a navigator so not like I will be in direct leader to a group of people. Dont worry, I know that you have 8yrs more than me worth of experience.

Here is a Big Salute to you Brandon :patriot: from another Airforce Vet. OTS is way different than enlisted Basic Training. You are under more rigid control. I spent a week over their on detail while waiting for orders. When going from one building to another they have to walk in pairs and they cannot make eye contact or speak and there are spots painted on the paths where they have to stop do a 90 degree and stand at attention, salute go back to attention do a 90 degree and move on and in step with one another. It is 200% more of a mind F**K than basic training.

Good luck and remember if you go to Flight trainning you will have to go thru Excape and evastion trainning which will also include being captured, Put in a POW situation and treated like a prisioner. You will have to eat bugs and crap, they will sleep deprive you and put you in isolation. it will not be pretty but if you succeed you will be much more of a man than you ever thought you are and you will have an even greater pride in knowing what you are capable of dealing with

Again Congrats and GO AIRFORCE!!!!
