Had an interesting night, turned out cool though

ok so i got off work and went to walmart to buy gran turismo 4 and I used my check card I also used it tonight at work. So then i head to wendys to get some food. Card got declined and i'm like wtf I just used it and still have money in my acount. So I dont get the food and I head to sonic to try that. Well they have the pay at your stall and I tried it got declined. So I hit the button again so I could let them know so they dont make the food. Well they said they could try it on the inside so i'm like okay. Girl brings me my food goes inside with my card to try it. Declined again. So the manager comes out to tell me it was declined and then she said "dont worry about it" I was like "are you sure" she said yeah I remember your name and didn't you use to drive a different car a while back(my v6 stang) so I ended up getting FREE food! That manager was awesome

I've had my Visa check card declined at countless gas stations. Not sure if it's their machines or what. That had to have been pretty embarassing, though!

I hate using cards. I just want cash since all that a card represents is cash anyway. You'll never be declined cash. It sucks though, cause every time I go to cash a check they charge me to cash it for not having a bank account. If I have a bank account they charge me for not having money in it, but I don't want to put money in it cause you can only take 200-300 dollars out at a time at an ATM and I don't want to have to find a bank. I'm screwed either way. I could keep money in there but then I don't have as free of access to it as I'd like.

^^^you need direct deposit, and need to learn that some banks have free checking and dont need you to keep a certain amount in your bank at all times.

direct deposit is great. and u should try and find a credit union, i use navy Fed. its great they do every thing. so try and find one, for those of you who are still in HS you can typically get in on Apple credit union, i highy suggest that. i did but i just dont use it that much b/c of the fact that Navy Fed has better benefits.

i think my story from yesterday was a little bit better...

so i'm at the gun shop yesterday morning ready to order a new rifle. i have it picked out, and the guy swipes my card so i can make a down payment on it.

*pin exceeded*

he tries a few more times, and gets the same message. i have no idea what it means, so i cal USAA and i have them access my account. the lady at usaa told me that i had a balance of $67. i couldn't believe that ****! i asked her to list the recent transactions... several were in kansas, and at the airport. baiscally, someone had a countereit card and was using my money to buy themselves whatever they wanted. at this point, i'm ready to kill someone! i spoke to the fraud department and while talking to them, i realised that my dad is in kansas right now.

anyways, long story short - my dad got a new card, and somehow it went to my account. ive got it sorted out now, so i'm pretty relieved.

Mine's never been declined either...I don't let it get down low enough to be declined...my gf drives me crazy, she'll have like 5 dollars in her checking account all the time. I just don't understand how you could only keep that much in

Mine gets declined a lot, but it's never money, it's always that my card is dirty from my duct tape wallet.

just cuz you droped the money at the bank dont mean its in the account at that given instant or even that day, if its like where I work if you make a deposit before 2 pm on business day M-F, then it shows up THAT NIGHT but only ater 7:30 pm.... so you dont have it until neary 8pm at night (well im sure this time differs but its posted later that day regardless )

and if its after 2 its the next night... and friday = mondays night.... so keep that in mind, people get messed up with this all the time.

Really?? That stinks, at my bank you give the aldy your cash, and she puts it right into my check account. I've asked her and she said since I put cash in and not like a check or anything I can get to it immediatley. So instead of carrying 3-400 bucks on me I just have a card. It's really the only thing in my wallet cept for a Red Lobster giftcard, some phone numbers, and like 15 bucks.

Whenever my Visa check card has been declined at gas stations it is because I used it as a debit card. If I use it as a credit card it works. Either method still functions as a check card.

every place i've ever worked at has had free direct deposit but I don't want the money in the bank or on some card...I want it in my hand or in my wallet. Some banks have free checking and all that stuff but when I got mine in 1995 I was young (10) and my mother set it up. Now I left that bank and will go to a new one when I find one, but really only to cash my checks cause I don't want them holding it, I can hold it/save it by myself.
