PS2 = owned

Well after countless hours of 'on time' completing games many times over from RPGs to gran turismo type series... as well as being my exclusive DVD player since the ps2 was released... it finally took a dump on me.. the disc spinner is not contacting my discs anymore..

sucks.

and that didn't solve the problem... the ps2 is still broke =p

besides.. I don't think its a disc read error, I believe the mechanism that spins the disc is screwed up..

Well if you got it when it first came out i'm surprised it lasted this long. Most of the first gen ps2's would die within a year or shortly after. They put it out way to quick so those crapped out faster and tend to have the most issues when playing the blue disc. I got the second gen ps2 and have had no problems. Played countless dvd's and cd's and games with no problems. Had it for a couple years now.

My PS2 was on the first shipment over, and it took a crap on me just last year, most of them crapped out within a year.

I have a slim PS2 now, and it's perfect.

We found the main two reasons the PS2 crapped was because cheat codes and DVDs.

Generally it's the contoller codes that mess it up. It starts with the memory card.
