Metallica sold out long ago.

Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Ozzy in his Black Sabbath days, if you like to bang your head.

AC/DC is without doubt the quintessential rock band. Lead guitar, Bass, drums and lead singer, the stereotypical rock band and they ROCK!

If you like rock that makes you think The Pink Floyd or Rush.
If you like rock with no consequences try the Beatles or any of the hippie bands like the Dead.

Mellow rock? Santana or the Doobie Brothers is a good choice.

Gonna get some rock? REO Speedwagon, Journey or Styx.

So, what kind of rock are you looking for?

Steve

WAS one of the greatest. They lost it the moment they stopped drinking.

Its freakin sad

as for rock songs anything from Diecast, All that Remains, Bionic Jive, Mnemic

they all kick *** in my opinion

BTW I see alot of people are talking about old school rock. Let me put it to you like this. If you dont know the classics that make this genre so damn good you dont dserve to be listening to rock should be listening to country or some stupid sh*t mmhms

Lamb of God used to be really christian, now they sound alot better.

Download anything by Dream Evil if you want something new but sounds like early 90's metal. They have really hard guitar riffs and the singer's voice is crazy.

Dream Evil - Book of Heavy Metal
Dream Evil - The Sledge of Rock

Those are my 2 favorites off their new cd.

Sorry double post but I got more ideas...

If you like rage download Know Your Enemy or Bulls on Parade.
Static X has some good songs, if you like hard rock. I suggest Grind On It, Black and White, or Permanence.
Wia mentioned In Flames, they're really cool I've seen them live and they destroyed alot of stuff. Archenemy if your into Hardrock. Download old Pantera too, they will always rock.

they still are one of the greatest rock bands.....their past albums prove it...

so what.....st. anger was a flop compared to their older stuff....there is a new album they're working on.....no need to say they are "sell outs"....for gods sake.....how many other hard rock bands do you know of that have stayed in the mainstream as long as them?

Metallica? A great rock band? Ha, maybe they were a good garage band at one time but they were never great and sure as heck are not one of the greatest.

Plenty of hardrock bands make Metallica look like a girls choir.

Just because it's cool to listen too, also add eruption to the van halen list

As for boston, another popular one is peace of mind

Anything is good by queen or styx, i'm sure they both have "best of" albums, if you download them they'll keep you interested.

at blind melon, funny stuff. Has anyone seen the video?

Thrice is an awesome band and my personal favorite. Other songs you may look into are the whole "illusion of safety" and "artist in the ambulance" albums as well as the song "in your hands" and if you only download one, get "t&c" it's an absoultely awesome song! Perhaps I'll use it in my next video!

I want to see them in concert again. Last time I saw them was at warped tour and they had to play acoustic versions of their songs because their drummer was sick or broke a limb or something.
