Having computer problems

Ok..I recently bought this computer off of a friend of mine and it's great. However, It's not finding any of the cd/dvd rom drives at all. I even have an external hp dvd burner. Nothing, it's not find any of them. Then I go to download a few drivers and it's still not working. It's really starting to piss me off. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Having computer problems

are any of the usb ports working? go into the bios and disable the drives and than set them back up...may or maynot work, a friend of mine had a comp taht his mom put in a usb plug upside down and itshorted the whole thing, drives and usb ports wouldn't work, we basically reset the bios and played with it for a while and it worked again.

another option would be to re-install windows...

i know there is some otherstuff to try first... but i can't remember it.

It's cheaper to be beat a viper than to lose in one.

Re: Having computer problems

Go into device manager and delete all IDE channels. Restart and windows should reinstall them.

Otherwise, make sure IDE is enabled in the BIOS, and that all cables are fully connected

I had this same problem a while back
I don't own a mustang at the moment
