have you ever looked at their 1/4 mile stock? i can't believe how slow it is for such a light car, comparitavely to our stangs.

don't get me wrong, i want a v8, but i hope not to walk the wrong arrogant path upon achieving the summit.

j/k Look at the tt vette 0-60 in two seconds flat. quarter in the 9's.
bull****, if nothing beats cubic inches why are there 2000 hp grand nationals with 3.8 liter engine. the old sayi9ng there is no replacement for displacement is bull ****, 500 rwhp v6 stangs prove it and 2000 hp grand nationals with v6 prove that aswell.

If I could find one in decent condition, I'd just have me a GN. that car made the big bore crowd eat ****. Leave it to a V6.

Please dont compare the TURBO V6 GN to a money pit V6 mustang

Aftermarket for a GN is the like the same for a fox theres plenty and considering the GN has the advatage of power adder already just like Fords supercoupe

Don't compare them? Why not, the buick 3.8 is the engine ford copied our 3.8 from.... If you turbo a ford 3.8L and do it right, then you should be able to compete with an old GN...Don't see why you couldn't. There is a place for all cars, and all engines. I owned 2 V6 Mustangs before I got my GT. I paid my V6 dues, lol. I had a lot of fun with my 94 Convertable, but I just got tired of spending money on her when it wouldn't even idle at stop lights for me anymore, that is a real pain with an aode transmission, believe me. I love this GT, specially with the IRS Cobra Rear, brakes, and suspension. She is putting out around 300 hp and that is more than enough for me. I am no drag racer, I have never even run her for a time slip, though I still might sometime for the heckuvit

i have to deal with those kinds of people every night at work , i catch so much hell over having a v6 stang that it makes me so mad.

but oh well most of them have older v8's that makes about the same amount of hp as my v6 , and i get alot better fuel mileage so i try and ignore them. also there is one guy that wants to race me so bad. he has a 1987 buick with a 305 in it and he's getting it "race ready" he has a roll cage and some other goofy stuff in it and he talks about wanting to race my stock stang all the time! i mean come on whats the point? im getting very tired of it and really have considered looking for another vehicle to get away from it.

lol guys, i've enjoyed this topic. at least we're all relatively cool here about it

as far as no replacement for displacement? well boost is a form of displacement, when it comes down to it its all about how much fuel an engine can consume and how effectively it takes that power and transfers it to the ground (keep in mind that air is the primary fuel) so when your compressing air so that you can put it into a smaller place... your increasing the amount of volume that an engine can displace effectively..

regardless, take a much larger motor (than a GN) and put the same treatment on it, and you wind up with a 427 HEMI producing 40 pounds of boost with 11:1 compression making 6-8 thousand horsepower, sound familour? its really about how much money you wanna spend to get to a certain speed. personally the way I see it is that you can take just about any street car small or large motor and make the power you'd want to see for street use, so it doesn't matter, I only want 3-5 hundred myself, but I like having a large motor, those are more fun to me, some people like doing it with a smaller motor and boost, also very cool and one day I want to venture there myself.

I try to not dog anybody past joking you know?

i have an 87 I4 fox...what are you trying to say?!

this reminds me of when i was a moderator on a board, and guys from stangnet came over to start trolling and causing ****, i went into the lounge, in a very professional manner, and asked if they could cut the BS, we didnt start anything, etc, rather than getting any forms of apology, or anything, they started insulting my car (my 3.8), running their mouths about how slow it is, and being overall dicks, but a few guys PM'd me, asking me about my car "is it a turbo coupe?" or "my friend had one, i liked it" and things like that

the dickheads, GT owners
the cool guys , 2.3 turbo and V6 guys

it seems that GT owners who just buy the car, feel the "king of the hill syndrom" and feel superior to anyone with anything less, but these guys with V6's and 4 bangers know the ropes, know what its like to be slow, and even when they do get a GT, theyre cool as hell about it

also, many times, us with the slower cars, V6's, 4bangers, etc, know more about GT's than GT owners do!

Glad I own an LX

Def agree with you but its not even GT owners just "hot Shots" that finally got something to claim for. They usually suck at life anyways but like I mentioned before get a V6 that romps a V8 they'll hush a few and then say its still a V6

Its a never ending battle its never gonna end its just the car food chain

its all about what you want, and people put too much importance on how fast it is... I mean, I do buy cars based on other things

Just figured that needed to be somewhere in the thread. It's all just a big pointless pissing contest. (I think we know by my now my penchant for extreme analagies...)

I figure the V8 owners that are dicks are just those who think their car's displacement to be a personal statement about themselves. Shouldn't Stang owners feel like they have something in common?

I mean, unless you're driving a horrid little fart can triple wing lawnmower with APC stickers, what's the problem? Can't we all just get along?
