Well mr i'm gonna be a smartass. I didn't get the 79 fox because I got real sick for about a week and missed work so my tax return had to help cover bills and if you have any other smartass commments take them elsewhere.

And since I forgot to put this in the first reply to this post...What Spector says is very true... wait till you ... are ready for it. If you do decide to go with an 03/04...be sure you are ready for the power. Going from a Ranger to a Cobra is going to be a huge change. We dont' need any more cobra owners putter their cars onto their tops or into solid objects. The power in the cobra takes a lot of restraint when on the roads...or else lots of trouble will ensue.

*stepping off soap box*

With that said, I say target an 04. The chances of getting an 04 with the head tick fixed and stall flash fixed are much greater than an 03. Plus, there are still brand new 04 cobras on some lots that may still be there later since a new model is coming out.

The MACH is nice, but it is more show than go. Sure it looks good, buying that would be, for me, more about heritage than anything else. To me, the 05 is a like a secretaries car...just like the original mustangs were. (Sorry 05 owners). They look decent, and the look will grow on me more, but I just don't see the 05 as a "must have" type of car like the 03 was when it was announced.

Before I get in more trouble...go 04 cobra...it will put an unending smile on your face...and a serious look of fear on your passanger's face.

Trust me I understand exactly what you mean. I had a auto 96 gt when I was 17 and lets just say ummm....got loose many times lol. Parts of me really wants another one like it, but 2 years from now it'll be pretty old. So i'm looking for a newer like 1-2 years old when that time comes. I know a lot of people said crap about me changing my mind, but not this. I've been planning this for years now. It was a promise I made to myself when I got rid of my gt. Not some fickle comment. Yeah I changed my mind a lot for a while there and blah blah blah, but seriously some people on here need to get over that **** and drop it, it's seriously old. You dont see me going around talking **** about other people. I expect the same amount of respect I give other people and i've given y'all nothing but respect. So I would appreciate it if the people who continue that crap stop. BTW thanks for your input and thanks for sticking to the topic.

Never said I was gonna drive like an *** dunno where you got that from. I was just saying I was young and stupid when I had my gt and didn't know how to drive it. I dont really drive all that aggressive anymore and if I do it's nothing that big.

some people can handle the power some cant... I personally can I have drove plenty of pretty fast cars, from my friends mustangs ( mike and ben ) whom both are pretty quick, just got to have respect, you can kill yourself in a 10hp ford fiesta if you are stupid enough.....

Having a rwd car when you are used to a FWD is a different world lol... I know when i put a tlok in my car it totaly changed its road manors

Yeh, I had to relearn how to drive after being in a FWD for 3 years. At least I knew how to control them with my dad's Ranger being so loose. It jumps sideways across bumps b/c of the suspension being so stiff for towing.

never said you were a bad/stupid driver.. I was more responding to someone elses post about 'not being able to handle power'

I was basically trying to say if you can't handle power that's fine, just be sure you're the only one you hurt when you lose control.. that's what I meant about it.. wasn't talking about you not being able to handle it, was just saying in case you can't.. get it? okay

By then i'll have a better job making more then 11 an hour. This is what i'm looking at now. If all goes well when it comes down to buying it. I'll only be financing around 15k. Also 11 an hour is a big jump since the best paying job i've had was 7.50 an hour.

I've had thoughts about becoming a huge porn star, like Ron Jeremy, but that doesn't make my penis any bigger.

14 dollars a hr isnt going to get you a apartment/home pay for a 03/04 cobra, its insurance, your house insurance, your health insurance, your electricity, etc etc etc... just trying to be realistic here.

I can get up to 75% off rent, free electricity/water and free basic cable if I get this job on top of being able to get health insurrance and still be making that amount of money. There are BIG avantages working at an apartment complex.

Also y'all seem to be thinking i'm talking about getting one now lol. This is 2 years from now. It will only cost about high teens plus my insurrance will be cheap with the big drop for turning 23 with a clean record.

Also brent trust me I am being realistic. I'm not a ****ing moron when it comes to life. I'm not some rich *** spoiled brat. I've had to put up with more **** them most of you could even imagine. For a year an a half I was working my *** off and I just handed my parents my checks so that we would be able to LIVE. News flash I know more then you guys think.

Wasn't going to be keeping the truck. I'd be selling it. Maybe you guys though I was going to be keeping both? but no thats not the case. If at that point I need a truck I will either barrow my dads or buy me an old 80's f150 or something real cheap. Love my truck, but I dont really need it, but in order for me to not get royally screwed with it i'm hanging onto for about 2 more years(3 years total) and i'll be going in with a serious downpayment towards the new car whatever it ends up being.

The problem with the 05 GT is still going to be a problem in 07, The thing has too much new stuff on it, there is bound to be a load of bugs in all that new stuff, whether its new, or two years old. Cobra or Mach, either year is about the same, look for a good deal.
