I've actually thought about this conversion...plenty of power. Just put edelbrock heads or get some custom ones engraved...noone will ever know.

Well get some custom done, or just leave the LS1 on there, who cares, noone will be keeping up to see what you have neways. LS1 has always been the best bang for your buck in a car...

The only LS1 swap that might be better than a Mustang (complete with a big *** bowtie in the back window...) would be these LS1 powered RX-7's...damnit, having trouble finding the links...

I wonder if a LS1 would fit in a 05 GT??? Since GM owners don't have their own car to buy new it's the next best thing!

lol Brent's a die hard ford guy.

I think it's cool, swaping domestic engines and all. You see imports swap engines to shave .4 off their time cuz the damn thing is so heavy.

Meh, I always felt the domestic guys should all put something into ONE car.. making it an American car, rather than a one branded car.

no imports(namely hondas) do it cause the engines that come with most of their pos commuters were made for 1 thing, COMMUTING. they gotta take a engine out of a top of the line acura 30k car, which the engine swap alone costs around 3 grand. and by the time theyre running they only shave .5 seconds off their time, not cause its lighter, because theyre ****tards that shouldve bought a car that has the potential right off the bat.

i have mixed feelings about the ls1 swap into a stang. off the bat the LS1 does have more potential than the 4.6, i mean heads, cams, headers, nitrous(ls1 love the juice) and you got yourself a 11 second beast. heads, cams, headers, nitrous on a 4.6 and you might have 12's. i might get flamed for this but im only going off what i see at the track.

i for one like the hollow throaty tone of a 4.6 with the right exhaust system. me no like the LS1 even with exhaust they tend to sound all raspy in the upper rpm range. unless for some chance i had a spare LS1 sitting in my garage and a 99-04 shell that needed an engine, i would NOT do the swap.

dont feel sad though, someone just put the LS1 into a 1g awd then made it rwd(which totally just killed the whole point of buying a awd) so they can have a sleeper drifter. i am very pissed cause there people who are out there who want awd 1g to make them into awesome track beasts, and some hick takes it and turns it into a uber mad tite drifter.
