It's pretty sad that people were getting all jazzed up that she was going to die...

That judge should be tried for murder

cash in on what?

he was offered over 10 million dollars to give terry's rights over to her family, but he declined. the insurance company already paid him $1,000,000 - almost all of which has gone to pay for terry's medical expenses. it wasn't about money.

Naw, more about him not wanting her to communicate what really happened to her.

You know he denied her any rehabilitation.

you mean how she did this to herself by not seeking help for her eating disorder? actually, now that i think of it, michael is to blame as well. if she didn't help herself, he should have done something.

either way... my opinions on this are not based off of what anyone says. i could care less what michael has to say. i don't care about what all these "pro-life" and "right to die" people say. all i know is that i want to die if i'm ever in the same position as terry. i already explained that to my family. i don't think i would keep anyone in my family alive if they were a vegitable either. being a vegitable is far worse then being dead.

I agree almost completely with chips.

Why in the world would Michael Schiavo be trying to hide something? It's her fault for being bulimic and not seeking help in the first place...

and he spent in excess of $700,000 of the 1 million he got from her on her health care.

That is bullcrap for 3 1/2 years he spent nearly all of the 1,000,000 he got from a court decision concerning malpratice by the hospital. He took her all over the country to experts to find something that worked. The Parents even said he did this. All said she was a vegetable and would never get better. In several CAT SCANS THERE WAS NO BRAIN ACTIVITY. Only after being in this state for 8 years did he finally fight to remove the feeding tube when all hope was lost. The fact is only one doctor out of some 30 court appointed has said she was not a vegetable. Damn that is pretty convincing considering when can you ever get 30 people in a group to ever agree on anything.

All I'm saying is, if he did not care about money, why didn't he just have the marriage annulled, he already has another woman and two kids. But he held on to the legal contract of marriage, with Terry dead he has rights to any profits coming from this. I can bet $$ he will be writting a book, he will be giving interviews, and there will be some kind of TV movie.
I would not want to live like she did either. I would also want to be put down.

I'd bet if ANYBODY does anything that makes money from this whole fiasco, it'll be her family. He's been rather quiet about the whole thing the past few years. Wanna know where all those statements in the media came from? Try her family, not Michael.

So both sides of this issue will exploit this and write a book you can bet on that !!!!

Dont you see it is not about money but who has legal rights and as her legally bound husband he has the rights. The fact is he said he was acting on here request to not be left on support. The family might disagree but they had no legal stance and the court upheld the Husbands rights in this matter. This was not only a fight for Terry it was a fight for legal rights.

Think about this wonder if your mom's fell into a vegetative state. Who would you want to represent your mother. Her parents or if they were dead your mothers sisters or brother? Most would say their dads.

I sympathize with the family and their grief but they have prolonged their own agony selfishly long after their daughter they new was gone.

What I hated most about this was the political involvement in this. I am a Conservative Christian and I believe in the right to die and not be hooked up to artificial devices that will only postpone my departure. Brain dead is Brain dead. They is no, love, hate just death. When a Cat Scan shows ZERO brain activity they say you dont even dream. All movements are involuntary movements. My next door neighbor who died before Christmas a year ago was brain dead and still have muscle movement but nobody was home. His family pulled the plug and rightfully so.

OMG X 2

The family just wont leave anything along. Dont they realize all the legal motions that have transpired up to this point is been with the legal representative the HUSBAND and that will not change. The Husband gets to burrier her. The Courts are not going to change now. For the parents all they have done is make Attorneys rich. They have lost every battle and the war.

i saw this on another site...

Quote:
18 Things we have learned from this case....

1) Jeb Bush, George W. Bush, and Tom Delay are all world renowned neurologists.

2) 22 successive court battles that all ended in exactly the same way means there is something wrong with the courts, not the Schindler's case.

3) Mike Schiavo is after money which is why he turned down 1 million dollars and 10 million dollars to sign over guardianship.

4) Congress and the State Legislature of Florida has nothing better to do than pry into the private medical affairs of others.

5) Pulling life support is bad in Florida when authorized by the legal next-of-kin, but pulling life support is good in Texas when you run out of money and the mother pleads not to pull the plug on her baby.

6) Medical diagnoses are best performed by watching highly editted videotape made by Randall Terry rather than in person by trained physicians.

7) Minimum wage making nursing assistants are more qualified to diagnose a persistant vegetative state than experienced neurologists.

8 ) Cerebral spinal fluid is a magical potion that can mimic the entire functions of a missing cerebral cortex.

9) 15 years in the same persistant state is not really enough time to make an accurate diagnosis.

10) A feeding tube that infuses yellow nutritional goop is not really "life support".

11) Jesus was wrong when he said that a man and woman should leave their parents and cleave only to each other.

12) Marriage is the most sacred of all unions, except when it isn't.

13) Interfering in a family's private tragedy is a great reason to cut short a vacation, but getting a memo that warns a known terrorist is determined to strike inside the US is cause to relax and finish up some R&R.

14) Pro-lifers are really compassionate people which is why they are hoping that Michael Schiavo dies a horrible painful death.

15) The Supreme Court of the United States and the State Supreme Court of Florida mean "Maybe" when they are saying "No!".

16) Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia is a bleeding heart liberal.

17) 7 Supreme Court Justices were appointed by republican presidents, so it's Clinton's fault.

18 ) A judge who makes rulings based on the law is obviously an atheist, liberal, democratic activist even though he is a conservative, republican, Southern Baptist

i'm pretty sure that there are other ways to end marriage besides killing someone. there was talk of divorice among other things.

Dark you obviously dont releaize that shes so much of a vegatable of just 15 years sitting on a bed not knowing anything not feeling anything her body never realized she was starving. Thats the most humane way you can go, they could have done a morphine drip but it would have been pointless cause the rents were fighting for her still. so there was no humane option due to the courts

The guy isnt a bad guy. he stood by her all those 15 years, can you also blame him for moving on and having a life but yet still be in love wit his first wife. You can only do so much. You can only afford so much.

The guy obvliously cares and loves her dont you ever think that during the 15 years of being by her side didnt crush him, didnt make him just want to take her out and finally put her in a better place instead of seeing her day in and out in the bed with no results of getting better.

I feel for the guy I give him so much props for lasting 15 years. seriously
