Would u deny your god?

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/ar...042470,00.html
Quote:
...The teacher spoke up. "God be with us," said Rogers. Provoked, the gunman shot her. He then aimed at another student, Chon'gai'la Morris, and asked, "Do you believe in God?"

"No," came the answer. The gunman turned away and found other targets, ...
It's a tough one I think. I can say no I would not deny God, but then again no one has a shotgun in my face. I guess it depends on how religious u are. yeah you would live, but only to end up in hell one day. I dunno , It is something to ponder.

I say no, from my comfy computer chair.

I hope I'd say no in that place.

I honestly think there's no way I would allow someone with a shotgun, a slow weapon, to kill that many people in my presence. If he is going to kill me, it's going to be saving his own life.

Maybe that kid really didn't believe in God.

I would really like to be able to narrow it down to one thing that makes people go and do things like this. I'm sure I'm not the only one to find it disturbing that there are shootings in schools.

That is tough. If God knows you are under severe distress I cant see him being mad especially considering Peter denied him 3 times or if you have a family to support But if you ask, would I accept the mark of the beast HELL NO

There are alot of things that need to happen in this country that no one in the White House, Congress, or local city school board is going to do and I think its a damn shame that we do not get more outraged over this than we do. 2 weeks from now it will be just another school shooting and not another thought will be given to it other than those that will be directly affected with it for the rest of their lives... all because some idiot Parental Guardian can't figure out that their kids a ****ing sick bastard.

You know what where is the media coverage on the teenagers who talked to school officials about the kid making a bomb and threatening to blow up the school. What are their names? No one knows..... the media doesn't want that.. they want to report about the bastard that killed 10 people and then want to try to figure out in 15 minutes of talking what went wrong and how to prevent it. What the hell they do this everytime.

It's a shame

Lets not get into this. Lets face it. This is not worth bringing up. You guys are my friends and the way non-believer feel the need to attack our beliefs just causes division.

I do not attack non believers so please lets drop this

:yup: ^ what he said!

I also believe in God, and I don't think anyone can really say absolutely without doubt what they would do if they had a gun in their face and had to make a choice like that!

I agree with that, no way I'd be cringing on the floor, I'd be
scoping out a way to get behind the * and do a commando
on his @$$...

But to answer the original Q, if you were just to say you believed
in God without really knowing him is to be stupid, however I doubt
that anyone would. If you really know God and don't deny him, he
has a place waiting for you where all the V6's
run 1 sec. quarters at 1000 MPH or better

that same exact question was asked when Columbine happened. I forgot whether it was Eric H. or his partner. He asked a kid in the hallway if he believed in god kid said yes and the dude shot him in the face on instant.

So ponder about that.

there is a difference in believing in God and knowing about God.

to answer the question, no i never have and never will deny the God who saved my soul. If it means dying then i know where i'll be going. (movin' on up from the jeffersons starts playing).

I don't think the point of this thread was to figure out who believes in God and who doesn't. I think it was more of a "would you sell out if someone had a gun in your face?"

My answer is no, but then again, nobody has a gun in my face.

Yes Nick, Thanks. This was not meant to be a debate wether God exists or not. I just wanted to know from the people that do beleive in God, How they felt about this. I think it is very easy to say "I would never deny GOd" or "I would jump the guy". I really can't say I what I would do with death staring me in the face. I really hope and pray that I would step up and say "yes I beleive in God".

For the people that don't believe, are you agnostic or athiest or what? Just curious. The thing with "faith" is exactly the connotations that come along with the word. Can you believe without seeing? If you're looking for proof you'll never find it. If you can't believe without seeing that's ok, but why would you kill somebody for it? That is what I don't understand. Instead of focusing on what happened why don't they focus on why it happened. Ask the kids, why, when they give you the answer ask why they feel the answer is that way, and why and why again until you completely understand what is going on.

I can say without a doubt that I would say I believed in God to somebody that was holding a gun in my face. What do I have to lose? If he kills me then I go to a place so benevolent it can't be described rhetorically, if I don't die I have an awesome story to tell.

As for the people saying they would fight the guy, I would too; but with so many people saying that they would fight the guy there must be something wrong. When they say "a gun right in your face" they probably just mean the guy is aiming at you. Imagine if you had the gun, I would know I had a length advantage and stay far enough away that nobody could take it from me. Either that or these people really are the biggest ******* ever cause they should know that enough people could take the guy on. Some of them might die but you'll save the rest of the people; and I don't know about you but I personally would be willing to die for that.

For your first two paragraphs, start another thread if you really want to know. We just said this thread wasn't for that purpose.

And about fighting the guy, I was just pointing out that the guy had a shotgun. It can't be that fast of a weapon. I don't know what kind of shotgun it was, but at most he has 8 shots, and I seriously doubt it was an assault shotgun. Besides, unless he just had an awesome top of the line shotgun, he's gotta pump that ***** too. I can cover a lot of distance in the time it takes for his pump. And with the people I hung out w/ in High School, I probably wouldn't have been the only guy going his way.

Threads can change, look at the pope thread

Not a guy with a lot of guns...don't you only have to pump it once?

Guy has 2 hands, both of which will be required to pump his shotgun. This is just a guess, but I'm guessin he had to pump once for every shot. and from that story, he took several shots. Unless he's bad like Arnold in Terminator and can just pump it one handed. It doesn't matter how many guns you have, at most you can shoot 2.

I would never deny God. He has been there for me through any problem I had and my sacrifice would be no where near as huge as the one He made for us.

Whitestang if it was a semi-auto shotgun it would require no pumping
