oops!!

Well, I fried a couple of fuses while looking for the correct lead in the headlight switch jack.

That's what I get for using such a cheap multimeter...

I'll show some pics later of what I am working on

That's okay. I dropped a screw driver in the cigarette lighter one time.

Hey, so did I, thats why, when you take an amp out of the car, and leave the wires in it, you unhook the wires from the battery. Even if you think you did, check it again!

Hey, so did I! Somethin about a 12v constant and a wire that wasn't meant to handle it... You know that insulation will melt right off there.

i had ghetto rigged a radio into my car b/c i was tired of silence, i hit a bump and then my thoughts of "oh, i dont need a fuse, i'll just pick one up when i get a chance" came back to haunt me as i started to see smoke and smell burnt plastic.

well, it turns out I had the multimeter set to read current so it was just like a short circuit

Oh well, just took a 15 amp fuse

I was wiring up a pair of gauges, boost and oil pressure. Hopefully the boost gauge will be useful by the end of may lol

ouch. I personally think that a good meter is one of the most valuable tools one can own. I'm no stranger to the smell of burning wires. Hope the smell goes away soon!
