Doom 3

Ok, I don't know if anyone has had the chance to play this game yet but lemme start by saying this...

Oops I crapped my pants.

The graphic settings for this game are through the roof, I have a 2.8Ghz, 512 Ram, 64mb Geforce4, and it runs half decent on the lowest graphic setting with shadows off.

The game itself is 3 discs, something like 3 gigs I think on your HDD.

But the atmosphere so makes up for all of that. Its actually scary to play. I spent 3 hours tonight playing and I'm completely addicted. Enemies are hard even on recruit. You can get PDA's and watch videos and find little honts and tips through the game.

Moral is...Go and buy it seriously.

You should see it with good graphics. I ran it on my 9800XT at 1280x1024 resolution, with the detail turned up pretty high. It's graphically awesome, but honestly, there are other shooters that I think are more fun. I don't even have it installed on my new FX-55/6800GT machine.

Graphics are awesome, but I deleted it after about 3 days.

Why??

I can see it getting old after I have beaten it on Nightmare but thats then. It lived for 3 days on your machine?

Yeah, I didn't buy it, so it wasn't like I threw money away.

It's just a resource hog, and I didn't enjoy it enough to play it that much, besides, I had other things going on that needed my time more. So I got rid of it.

Still, it was graphically one of the most amazing games I have ever played. I'm not ashamed to say that **** was scary too, haha.

Doom3 Was a great distraction till HalfLife 2 Came into the picture. I bought Doom3, beat it on easy, normal, and hard.... then never played it again.

Where Doom3 failed, is where HL2 excelled at... A DAMN STORYLINE!

Doom3 is just eye candy.

HL2 is Eyecandy, and the replay value is high

HL2 also has an AMAZING physics engine.

BAH to Doom 3.

On my "godly awsome Alienware PC" it still didn't run super awsome. All graphics were turned up to the highest and when I turned left and right I could still see those annoying refresh lines go across the screen. I doubt any PC can make that run without the dumb lines going across, it really bugs the hell outta my eyes.

The game sucks too. You go into a room and BOOM a monster pounces at you slashing you, and you can't do anything about it because you just went through a door and it was waiting for you there.

It has some scary bits in it, but it's more annoying than anything. I mean, who's the ****ing genius at NASA who thought "Hmm on my Mars base, I think we should put a bunch of cubby-holes everywhere! Just for ya know, goodness sake."

It wasn't all that. Graphically, it was pretty, but gameplay was a little below average, I thought. And you're right, it was a resource PIG. I'm surprised you are able to play it on a 63 meg card. I'd much rather play UT2004, or Rainbow6/3.

The full graphics settings are intended for next generation (just now starting to show up, but I haven't seen any in stores...) cards with 512mb on the card.

Its only on XBox and PC I don't think they are going to be putting it on any other console.

The commercials for it on XBox look like its pretty good graphic wise and seems to play well and not slow down in combat. Think of Xbox Live for it if they have it.

Thats about all it has going for it... the graphics. Which is great for playing it once.... but even you'll admit after playing for a while it's just point and shoot.... no real thinking involved or real storyline.

Thats where HL2 improved greatly upon... while still being graphicaly equal.
